The kids were very patient as I made a few trips returning with the usual nuts, cheese sticks, quiche-type things, cake, and punch.

    ANYWAY...

    It was a beautiful wedding.

People - friends, family, acquaintances, people I don't know who see me in Target (a dad alone with 5 or 6 young children I'll admit is rare) ask me all the time for parenting advice. Usually it's problem specific. "how do you manage all that laundry?" "how do you keep your house clean?" "how do you handle it when the teacher calls because humour child did this or that at school?" and the constant joke of "wow I only have two and I have trouble managing them, I don't know how you do it!"

I used to really try and give my 2 cents worth to people who really wanted help, especially to family and friends. But nowadays I just smile and say something like "It's just what I do."

Here is why I don't share or give what could be very easy fixes or real help to others.

My brother in law asks me all the time how to handle this or that as a father with his son who behaves terribly at school. How do I tell him to put down his TVremote, turn off the ESPN, and go play outside with a boy who longs for his father's attention and approval?

My good friend asks me how he can make his 7 year old a good student? The childs grades are horrible. How do I tell him to spend extra time at night on homework, and check into tutoring, and get him tested for learning disabilities, instead of spending hours at the batting cages and nights playing catch?

I get asked sooo much about my kids. I am the go to guy for parents. But these days I just keep my pearls to myself. If pressed, I will say ,"just make sure you love them, hug them, kiss them, tell them everythings going to be alright even if you know its not, make them feel loved and let them know what's expected of them. All any kid wants is to know that you love them, that you are there for them. Really its all that any of us want from each other.

So yeah, I have 7 fantastic kids. I get asked questions across the spectrum all the time. Usually I keep my mouth shut and smile. I realize MOST of it is due to luck or providence, but the other 10% is common sense and love.

One night last week it was computer help on one phone, dream annalasis on the other and boyfriend trouble on MSN.

Only problem is that I often get myself in a tizzy then worrying that my friends are worried!!lol

Im also famous for hair dye advice ...lol...not sure why.

I'm the "go to" person for anything related to a trip to Disneyland :) I love that :)

My sister and I are the duo for planning all family parties and event. We'd love for someone else to do that, even just once.

Hmmm, thinking about the food thing. I think I'd like to be known for something fantastic. Think I'll work on that :)

At work, if anything needs organizing, they come to me. Also troubleshooting, planning celebrations, etc. I guess after 24+ years I guess I have that kind of reputation.

I also am the work Disneyland guru as well - info about the park, trip planning, etc. Its funny, I work with a girl that goes more often than I do but no one goes to her for advice because, to be honest - her trips sound boring compared to ours!!! Probably because I'm on here a lot and gets lots of good tips from LPers!!

Also good for useless Disney trivia that people have questios about. i.e. What was the movie that had ..... or What cartoon has the princess that .... - yeah 99.9% of the time I have the answer for those!!
