Jus kidding ~ Captain Kangaroo, Grandfather Clock, Mr. Green Jeans; I remember how Captain Kangaroo would wake up Grandfather Clock. GC was always asleep, and CK would walk over and say, "GRRRRAAAAAANNNNNNFFFFFAAAAATTTTHHHHEEEERRRRRRR!" And Grandfather Clock's eyes would open. I loved it. And I played Winky Dinks ~ had the whole plastic thing on the TV screen and drew. I can't believe I forgot Tom Terrific. And I didn't miss Mighty Mouse ~ ('scuse me Mickey) "Here I come to save the daaaayyy!! That means that Mighty Mouse is on his way!!!" And back to Captain Kangaroo ~ he used to sing so many songs and one I never forgot and sang to my children was ~ "Hey there, Dadddy, do you see? There's a horse in striped pajamas. No, that's not what it is at all. That's an animal people call ... a zebra. I see. But it still looks like a horse in striped pajamas to me!" I feel an ear worm coming on . . . .
