I can tell that you have a lot on your plate. Do what you can, and if there are things that don't get done...oh well. The world will not cease to exist. I am sending out a "standing O" to tink for dragging down the luggage. Good effort, tink. I think that I may have to put my money on you for completing your packing before mickeynewe. Apparently, she needs to mow her lawn, and her house is a pit and needs cleaning. I think I'll just sit back and watch you two battle it out for "vacation preparedness supremacy." I'd better go over my checklist first... 1. Packing...check 2. Sprinkler timers...check 3. Pool timer...check 4. Mail service...check 5. Housesitter...check 6. Automatic animal feeders...check 7. Automatic waterers...check Yup, I'm ready. Carry on, girls. One of you want to bring me a 'rita before you get going?

I agree w/MollysMom, I don't like the thought of Mickeynewe overdoing it and not being able to have the energy for DL. Hopefully, you can rest up during the week after your busy weekend. Last night, I was typing in my trip for the countdown page on LP & looked on the list to see who was going to DL during my dates to see if I recognized any names. Lo and behold, MollysMom is arriving the day after I leave! Darn!

I ALMOST booked out trip to start friday the 10th...in retrospect that would have worked out great. Then, you would have had the pleasure of BOTH mickeynewe's and my company. Maybe we could plan an all-girl's quickie trip sometime...even for a weekend. We can tell the families that we are going on a "Woman's Retreat", and then hook up at DL. I think it should be called "Wenchfest." Ok, back to your packing.

Little bit of heaven I tell you -- see, I was going to make a real smart-tushie wise-crack there Mollysmom but I restrained myself. You can thank the yummy morsels! Afterwards, I think I shall open up the toiletry bag and LOOK inside it. Didn't say I was going to pack anything, but I'm at least going to get a "sense" of what's needed. Baby steps, its all about the baby steps. hehe We're not all like SOMEONE WHOSE NAME I WON'T MENTION that comes on here and "brags" with their "checks". Ugh, some people....get your own gosh-dang 'rita! Although, I have to ask --- what is wrong with you Mollysmom? Look how Tinker (yes, I'm down to abbreviations now) and I took all that time and effort to coordinate our schedules, yet, you just couldn't fall in with the plan *sigh* Tink, what are we going to do with her? dsnykid, thanks for your comment. I'm glad we can put a smile on your face! We do our best to add to the fun. Its all about the LP Sisterhood. We truly enjoy the teasing and banter with one another. For me, I always look forward to seeing who's come up with what every time I check in. Now, to be "serious" for a moment... I know, I know.... I just wanted to say thanks for all your good wishes, thoughts, and talking to-s! I am going to do my best to slow it down. I really appreciate all your support! Great Big Smooches and Hugs!!

You should have coordinated your trips with mine. I just pulled out my vacation folder, and I booked my trip on September 26, 2006 at 3:03 p.m. Tink didn't even get her plane tickets until this week, and you just got your stuff figured out in June when your first trip got cancelled. I don't know why I take this abuse from you, I really don't, and quit kissin' me. xxxxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoooo

I get in enough trouble myself, you wouldn't have had to worry about getting me in any! (Do you think your BIL can help us out after the fact?) When I called Hojos yesterday to change my dates, the girl was so nice and said how they look forward to us coming, it's so nice that we're "regulars" and all of these other nice things. I said "Ummmm, I don't think you know who we are or you wouldn't be saying that." I didn't get anything else packed yet. I am considering going through my ironing basket and getting some things ready. I did reserve my rent a car for here, to get me to the airport, so I accomplished something! (more than eating a cheese burger, I tell you! Whenever we have a flight that leaves before the crack of dawn, I am too embarrassed to ask anyone to drive us to the airport. (We live very close.) I am afraid to book one of those limo/van services b/c they might not show up. So, I rent a car for the day. I pick it up the day before and drop everyone off at the airport, return the car and take the shuttle back. It's usually a lot cheaper, too. I use Thrifty and belong to their Blue Chip program. They give you a free day after 14 or 16 days of rentals, I think. I have 2 coupons for a free day. I booked with one of them, so the car should only cost me about $10 for taxes and fees. (I like riding around in the fancy car the day before, too!) The only problem I had last year, was finding the location to return the car, it's not at the airport and after going to bed at 1am and getting up @ 2am, I ended up not being able to find the place and having to call Thrifty for directions from wherever I ended up. lol (I'm sure you know Philly is not a good area to get lost in in the middle of the night!)

I own an iron, but I can't say I've ever actually plugged it in. I do recall using it once to hold an art and craft project down while some glue dried. I rent from Thrifty, too. I got a rental for the week we're in Anaheim for $84 when they were having a special. Cheaper than a taxi, and better than the shuttle. I will only use it to go from the airport and back, but I like the convenience of taking myself. I have never been to Philly, but you guys are on the news often in these here parts. The little town I live in is about 25 miles from Spokane (where I work), and I think at last count, we had about 1000 residents...including the dogs. We are all very spread out as well. Most of us live on acreage of some size or another. I live on 30 acres myself, and my nearest neighbor is about 3/4 of a mile away, and she lives on 20. Getting lost out here means that you will eventually be found in the woods dead, or after the spring thaw.

I'm jealous of your Thrifty deal! I couldn't book 'til I knew what airport I'd be flying into and what dates. So, I got stuck w/$348. I check back a few times a day and just got it lowered to $339! Before you know it I'll have the $84 rate, too! Don't you just love their "Blue Chip" club? They treat us like royalty!

Maybe tomorrow, I had a really tought day today w/my oldest son and then had to work tonite, so nothing was crossed off the list. Part of the problem is that I just made reservations, so I think I have months more to go before I leave, I don't ever book plane tix this late. I do have Target on my list for tomorrow to buy things for the trip. I'm glad you got ressies for Magicopolis. How far do you have to travel to go there? That's Fri. night, right? Jeez, that'll be here before you know it! I'm going to look for your email addy now...have a good night!

We have 3 riding lawnmowers, so it goes pretty fast, and we all rather enjoy it, too. The rest is woods. Spokane IS wonderful, I have lived here all my life, and can't think of ever leaving. It has been a great place to raise DD, and we have met several people that have moved here from other places for that very reason. I must say, though, that I fell in love with San Diego when we went to Sea World. I could see retiring there, but unless I were to win a very large lottery, that would be out of the question. I don't think my $650 a month house payment would get me much there. I DID get very lucky on the car rental. I had a car rented from Thrifty for $150, but while I was looking for a rental for my folks, I saw that Thrifty was having a "Southern California" special for $84, so I cancelled my previous reservation and booked the special. I notice now that the rental prices are $300 at least...ouch. mickeynewe...I think we need to give tink a much needed kick in the rear so she gets her stuff together. Less than a week...aren't you just crazy with excitement? I'm down to 20 days, and I already can't sleep.
