That's probably right. But it should have been the starting position that you then compromise from.

Instead, the Democrats essentially started with a compromise position that they then had to compromise on further. And then further.

If you want to sell your used car for $3,000, you always start out by asking for 4, and then bargain back to 3. I remember being amazed that the Democrats STARTED OUT asking for 3 and having to bargain down to $1,500.

Maybe. But since this is something that progressives have been fighting for for decades and decades, I'll give Obama a pass on this. Getting any kind of universal (well, almost) healthcare passed is a major victory.

It was reported today that in just two weeks, Oregon has seen a 10% drop in uninsured people. California's system seems to be humming along nicely, anecdotal stories from Orange County aside.

This will take work. It'll take ironing out. But it also takes a teensy bit of optimism and not a bunch of douche nozzle teabaggers trying to sabotage it at every turn.

I'm increasingly convinced that the GOP buys all of its planning materials from ACME.

It's too late teacup. You and your ignorant clan have demonstrated that anything reasonable said to you will fall on deaf ears. Do yourself a favor: put down the paintbrush, turn off Fox News, put down your superficial religious beliefs, and take a peek outside that bubble you're living in.
