Of course, all that doesn't really matter right now, as my A/C isn't working very well. GRRRRR! Just came back from a week at our cabin in the Sierras, where it's usually much cooler. On the 4th, it was 106, and with no A/C or much insulation, the cabin was 94 inside! I can't seem to escape the heat this summer. Oh, and Jim -- I symbollicaly waved at you when we drove through Merced. My husband thought I'd lost it, LOL!

In addition to the A/C and the ceiling fan running in the morning, I have a tabletop fan on the bathroom counter AND a tall floor fan behind me, blowing the cooler air from the bedroom into the bathroom. It's like a mild tornado in there! *L* The frustration of working to put on that girly face and having it melt away in one quick FLASH is something a man can never imagine. ;-) In her make-up disc commercials, Lauren Hutton claims she created (yeah, right) the make-up because women in their 40s+ often stop wearing it since most is designed for the younger set. Nope... We give up because what's the point when it goes sliding off your face five minutes later (if we're lucky... mine was coming off in mid-application!) in a mad torrent of perspiration?? *LOL*

Ummm 77 unless I'm feeling wimpy, then 74. We've been lucky and the AC has only come on a couple times this summer. I try to keep it set at 65 in the winter, but sometimes I get chilled enough I kick it up a bit.

Thankfully, for some unknown reason - I haven't had a hot flash for about four months... after suffering through them every 45 minutes day and night for the previous four months. *Knocks on Wood* ;-)

Our basic rule is once it gets to be about 80 or 81 degrees in the house, we turn the air on, set to 78.

Now I'm a little over an hour away and we average about 10 degrees hotter in the summer and 10 degrees colder in the winter. I may have mentioned that I work for a "large NorCal Utility company" I frequently see customer's bills in the $500.00 range in the summer months. I don't turn on the air much but Mrs. ThDestroyer has been known to crank it up. We usually keep the thermostat at about 75-78. It's usually on for a just a few hours from late afternoon to mid evening. I've been thinking about installing a whole house fan. That should help cut down on the monthly bill. I may work for a utility company but I still don't enjoy paying the summer air conditioning bills.

We had the AC at 78º all day long yesterday (we have a small house) and at that temperature we´re usually all pretty happy. If it´s really hot at night, like last night, all the windows are opened and the ceiling fans go on. When nobody´s home, we turn it all off.
