No idea whay. But I do believe it.< okay, I have my tin foil hat on here- but bear with me. I have a sibling who is a med professional as well as aver good DR friend. Both claim they get constant memo's from AMA to avoid giving anti-biotics because of immunity built up over the years ( in which case I'm sunk) --without real background reasons. Here's my take - what's one of the gov't biggest fears ? Bio- warfare. Take atnhrax for instance - what is one of the only known combatting drugs for it's effects - Cipro( high level antibiotics ) connect the dots just a theory I amnot Jack Bauer, nor do I play him on TV

Today it has turned 180 degrees an those who complained are now some of the perpetrators. It is a lonely place for a moderate - trust me, no one has your back...too left wing supposedly for the conservatives and too conservative for the liberals. Luckily I have Trippy there...and DAR and a small handful of others. discussions on the economy ( until they spin into red- blue left -right ) are usually pretty good.... but religion/ politics are not for the weak stomached. I usually last about 6 months then take a year off...

There were also some cases of gonorrhea that was resistant to all known antibiotics in the early 90's. It supposedly was contracted by some gents stationed in Thailand. There is now a new category of MRSA which is non hospital acquired. Add to these the lessening effectiveness of penicillin and the fact that there hasn't been any great new advances in antibiotics since the Quinolones (cipro, levaquin, etc.) and it might be wise to try and limit the use at least of second and third line antibiotics because once we start getting resistance to these there is really nowhere else to go.
