They not only incorporated the characters from the movie seamlessly, but they didn't even a little bit change the feel of the attraction, and they way upped its rideability and popularity. I think they did a fantastic job with the new characters in Pirates!

They should at least take that out. That's what I meant when they said they wrecked the ride. "Where be the treasure?" "Don't tell him, Carlos! Don't be cheeckeen!" I mean, you can hardly hear any of that anymore.

Plus I actually preferred the old end to the ride - the skeletons at various stages of escaping with the treasure. Jack on his rocking chair in his log cabin seems awkward to me. It's still a great attraction, but I don't think all of the changes were positive.

This was always one of my favorite spots in PoTC, and I really miss it.

Originally Posted By FerretAfros I like the spots where they added the music from the movie (the Wicked Wench battle and the initial cave just after the drop). I think they really add a lot of depth to those scenes and put in a lot of emotion without adding any dialogue or set pieces. I don't like the changes of the dialogue nearly as much, since it seems like every other thing you hear is something about Jack Sparrow. It gets old really quickly. I understand that they want to bring the focus to the new hip and edgy pirates, but it seemed to pull the soul out of the attraction in the process. I don't entirely hate him being there, but the scene at the end just doesn't work for me. Also, the AA's are very clearly recently done, as the movements are much more realistic than the older ones. It makes the Jack Sparrows stand out, in the wrong sort of way. I alos think that Davy Jones is kind of cool, but I don't like him there. I really liked the creepy old man in the cave, and I was sad to lose him, but I don't know where else they could do the fog screen effect. It is neat to see, but doesn't really fit in with the style of the rest of the attraction very well. Maybe they could do it on the lift at the end, to reinforce the idea that you're going up a waterfall, since I'm pretty sure most people don't understand that.

I liked the creepy voices in the dark tunnel and then emerging stealthily into the pirate ship scene. The effect, to me, was like magically slipping into another world.

Originally Posted By danyoung >Still, I don't see why they had to put them in in the first place.< Well, there's a simple answer to that - money! It didn't cost all that much to make the changes to Pirates, and it drove attendance at the park for at least a year. Smart move on Disney's part. >...why the ride can't be separate from the movie it inspired.< Well, they put little easter eggs in the movies that tied back into the attraction. It's only natural that they then extend the movie back into the attraction that inspired it. With all the popularity of the movies, having a Pirates attraction in the Disney parks that DIDN'T refer to Jack Sparrow would be kinda odd.
