I have met some of the NICEST employees there though, seriously (and it's TOUGH to be a breakfast waitress! the tips are pretty lousy, the work VERY busy!).

We went after the morning rush & they all sat & talked with us. Very nice gals.

I'll have to stop by one if I'm in the right area soon. As for In N Out, it's okay. It's good for fast food, but it's still fast food. I've found that most native (and even long-time) Californians see it as the end-all of restaurants, but I just don't think it's that spectacular. Would I take it over McDonald's? Definately. If I had my choice of any burger place, would it be In N Out? No way. That's reserved for Steak N Shake! (For all those Midwesterners out there!)

But I guess as a fast food on the run-it works. It doesn't taste bad it just isn't something I would rave about. Though my DS swears by the "Animal Style". But I am intrigued by the Waffle House. Never been there, but when our DD was visiting a friend in S.Carolina she said it was THE place to eat. She did mention disgusting "sweet tea" which is probably an acquired taste. But she also said they make all kinds of hash browns...or is it just potatoes in general? Anyway, sounds like a place I would like to eat at at least once just to see what it's all about.

The waffles are awesome, gotta try one of those. They also have good burgers, and I like their egg sandwiches too (never tried a steak there, seems risky lol). We found an "all you can eat" waffle house once. But the catch was you had to eat one item, and then you could order another. With the time it took to cook stuff, it ended up taking WAY too much time.

I had no idea there were that many kinds of hash browns. I've never eaten at a Waffle House, but I'm tempted to try one now. There are a few on the outskirts of town.
