I don't even do eggnog, TDG.

Boiled custard just sounds, so, so...what's the word...? Oh yeah, wrong, to me!

Boy, did I have a Road Trip moment when I read that. Three words just sort of leaped out at me.

Back to topic - if all you've ever had was store-bought eggnog, you really owe it to yourself to try home made. It tastes much different to me, and if you're worried about using raw eggs you can get eggs that have been pasteurized in the shell or you can actually heat the egg nog to 160 while you are making it. Alton Brown has recipes for both ways.

"Boiled Custard" is a very unappetizing name though. Looks like egg nog to me, and I like egg nog, so if I ever found this custard stuff I'd try it. Maybe. I am still not convinced you didn't fabricate those very cartons you licked though. I mean if you actually made a whole slideshow whats to stop you from making up custard cartons??? Huh? HUH? I thought so. Boiled custard my tushy......(see I was going to say fanny, but I don't want to offend the Brits, lol.)

LOL!! We sure know our Trippy, lol.

Tom, if you want to make some homemade egg nog, I will try a sip, but I can't promise you I won't make a disgusting face and spit it out (in the sink or trash can, not on you).

As for the compliments on the shirt, that's one of my favorite ones...green courdoroyish (sp?) Tigger shirt I got for Christmas about--gosh--I guess about 7 years ago. It's really big, really warm, really GREEN (MMMmmmmm) and I love it.

TP I wish I could say I'm technologically evolved enough to make fancy cartons, but I ain't (I'll take pictures of 'em in the Wal-Mart fridgey section for ya if I have to).

And don't worry, whoever comes to visit, I will *not* lick any cartons---I only advise you to do that if you live alone (or if you're angry with your spouse).

You've got some serious issues, don't you? And I don't mean just the custard thing.

We're your friends, TDG. We're here to help. Trust us.

Here's the scene: I was working today. I work for a large marketing firm and scan displays in stores. As I came around in the dairy section, I knew I needed some more egg nog and I looked to see if there was some, but lo and behold the yellow Boiled Custard plastic bottle had this amazing *glow* around it!!! I thought, holy cow, TDG is right! This stuff must be something I should try!!

So, now please understand, since I was working, I kept on working to finish the store. But I will go back and purchase it. And it is the Kroger brand.

Oh, I feel like this is such a downer because I didn't try it yet. But I promise I will!!!! I was just so excited that there it was sitting right there in the refrigeration section!!!!! I couldn't wait to tell TDG.

    Stay tuned . . .

    This is true.

When I first saw the topic, I couldn't believe this thread would ever reach almost 100 posts!
