Not actually leaking. In the website, it explains how Florida state law mandates that any vessel that is taking on water not be able to sail. The water was from rain that came in, or from the overhead waterfall as you enter the cavern. The same ruse was used when Eisner came to check on WDW management's decision. They tossed a bucket of water in their, picked a bad sub, and a bad sub operator.

    I dunno though.

I think it would be alot better as a 20 K ride with modern technology.

I believe the only other attraction in the MK that is in the same category is Jungle Cruise, which they simply cannot remove. At DL, it is Jungle Cruise and Storybook Land, two attractions that are virtually untouchable. Fortunately, we had Nemo to save our submarines. Sorry that destructive forces prevailed in Florida."

20 K was in a bad state of disrepair before little nemo wandered along.

And I like CoP. Its a really nice change of pace.

(While that was sarcastic, I really did greatly enjoy the parade!)

Saw part of the DHS Pixar Parade in pix, but don't remember any interaction with water, is it only at DL? What was it?

Actually, you're not far off. One of the main reasons park management wanted 20K gone was for the cost per rider metric. Simply put, if you take the allocated daily cost to operate and maintain the attraction against the daily rider count you get this metric. 20K and Subs at DL had an astronomically high cost per rider. This wasn't a problem when these attractions were designed or operated because of the ticket system. The lethal combination for attractions with a high $/rider was when each attraction stopped being their own profit center with their own revenue streams and Disney brought in executives who preferred merchandise racks and wannabe off-off-Broadway productions.

RoadTrip, what year did you start visiting the parks, because a 90+ wait was never very unusual for whatever the E-tickets were of the era.

    >>On the other had, I've heard that after the opening crush, the new 20K at Disneyland has shown itself to be a big yawner.<<

You would be in the minority then, RoadTrip. Have you been on it yet? Have you been around the park to hear people comment about or line-up for the attraction?

    >>I would guess that the Nemo ride at the Living Seas in Epcot is probably more popular than the Nemo subs at Disneyland.<<

Another thing you would be wrong about.

    >>What can I say? It was a loser attraction then. It is a loser attraction now.<<

I would be curious to know when you started visiting the parks regularly. Without a doubt, "to each their own", I am not trying to say your own reaction of the ride isn't fair. Just that it wasn't a loser attraction. It was MK's first E-ticket attraction and many people thought it was spectacular.

It's problem was not in it's design but in it's upkeep and lack of updating/modernization.

And it certainly isn't a loser out in DL. If anything, one might be able to make a case that it would have fit in very well in the MK's Fantasyland. Bring back something unique and high-energy.

Lastly, from day-1 I have been a fan of the Nemo installation at The Living Seas.
