No it wasn't, that was the problem.

And as far as Reagan's principles. He did talk a good talk. But I still see no evidence that he actually believed what he was saying. Just like the republicans now. It was Reagan who taught me to ignore what they are saying and actually watch what they are doing.
Like when GWB is calling the Dems unpatriotic for not supporting the troops, only republicans support the troops. Then he cuts hazardous duty pay for the soldiers in Iraq because its "mission accomplished" and cuts veterans benefits for those maimed in his war for Haliburton.
By the way, did you see today where a Haliburton Subsidiary was providing contaminated water for or soldiers causing rashes, diarrhea, and vomiting.

Upstate New York. I lived in a rat hole in Albany for 6 months and absolutely loved it. Loved Syracuse too. Not a fan of the smaller towns - it's just not me.

This perception absolutely kills me. Do you really believe they released to hostages because they were scared of Reagan. Really. I thought everyone knew the GOP was negotiating with Iran for months behind president Carter's back. They (GOP) promised a lot of stuff to them to continue to hold our people until the inauguration. In my book thats treason. Plain and simple.
    Patron Saint Reagan.

Bottomline, dshyates... They're ALL dirty - every member of every party. There's no "magic candidate" out there anywhere and there never has been.

THAT is the sad truth about politics.

These days, if I'm able to defend my home from criminals, support and feed my family and give a little back to those in need - in spite of all the crud going on in this world that I have no control over - that's about the best I expect in life now.

Well, that and a couple of fun vacations from the grind of work each year and I'm a pretty darn happy woman.

This, sadly, I completely agree with. I don't like the dems much, if any, better. Do I believe the Clinton's are in it up to their eyebrows? Yup. McCain, Not as much, but yup. Barak? haven't heard yet, but wouldn't be surprised at all to some questionable business dealings.
