My hubby did the lights (as always) and then my daughter and I decorated the tree. My hubby kind of "disappeared" during the decorating part because my daughter and I like to "ohhhh, ahhhh" over each ornament and reminiscence about them. Afterwards, we all sat on the couch and had a few moments of family time while we shared some memories and commented on our "fine work" as the tree lights twinkled. hehehe...I told a couple people today about putting up the tree and I think they thought I was nuts!

Then, yesterday afternoon I took a couple of bags of stuff to Goodwill and dropped it off.

Today, I have been busy, busy doing laundry. I also decided to "tackle" our bedroom today. That was my project for the day. So, I moved all the furniture around and vacuumed really well and dusted. Did some organization, etc. Each day will be a different room so by the time we leave the house will be as close to "clutter-free" as I can make it. Sadly, I had clutter...I say sadly because my hubby and daughter are packrats!

Don't run out of steam! There is too much still yet to be done my friend! We only have 1 more weekend before our trip!!! 12 more days for us...I've got 2 more days than you to clean up and I'm feeling under pressure...so I know you have to be!

We'll just keep motivating each other! Okay, my break-time is over!!

Hang in there and just remember Disney is waiting for us as a reward!!!

Today I went to the dollar store and found the 1 gallon "slider" kind- they had both packs of 9 and 12...for only 1 buck! Then I bought the sandwhich sized sliders as well. I composed my all new "baggie friendly" (LOL!) packing list the other night and today I just sort of dove into it. It's a very new method of packing for me- and I LOVE organization! ...Anything to break up the monotony of packing!:)

I'm also trying to clean and get caught up with all my laundry for my family of 7! Meanwhile I'm keeping up with posting items on craigslist to get some x-tra vacation cash AND get my garage cleared out! My hubby is shaking his head at me for listing some of our items so low but I'm a little more desperate for the $$$ b/c I've got our vacation as an incentive and I need to have my "funds gathered" by Saturday b/c we leave Sunday:)!!!
So that's MY vacation prep in a nutshell... back to work!

DD did a few but Ds had lots of homework and then came out and moved around the village and dd ran the train over and over-lol. Not much help there but I got the tree done!

Now I am falling way way behind at this point! DD woke up in the early night sick as a dog and we have both been up all night and then today, I took her to the Dr. and she has strep throat again. She got it 10/27 and just finished a 10 day course of antibiotics and here we go all over again-ugh. I am exhausted and didn't get to finish up the Christmas stuff or cleaning or packing. DH finally got home and is sitting with her so I could have a break and I just waved at my luggage as I went by-lol! Now my throat is starting to hurt, did I say, "Oh, No!"? Now I am not so much worried about the packing, my new mantra is "dont get sick, dont get sick"-lol.

So, mickeynewe, how are you doing? done? I think I need some more encouragement here-lol! I almost to the point where I could just make the kids wear the same thing over and over in DL-lol. 9 nights-hmmm, can't they just have one pair of pjs-lol!

Boystory, how did the packing with the bags go? I swear I love doing that and if you have ever used the space bags that worked without the vacuum where you roll them, the ziplock bags can do that too. Just zip almost the whole opening closed, and then roll it up and the air will come out and then quick zip the rest. Works great and seems that the clothes do not get so wrinkled when you take them out of the bag. I so so wanted to go to target today, lucky you! I am also trying to get all the Christmas shopping done too and target had some good stuff on sale in the Sunday paper. Now dd is home, I certainly can't take her shopping with me-lol.

The worst part is the dd can not go to school again tomorrow even if she feels better because of the 24 hour rule-ugh but hopefully she will feel well enough for me to leave her side and get some stuff done! I am really starting to feel badly about her missing those 3 little days for DL now that she keeps getting sick and missing so much school.

Don't you just wish you could blink your eyes and everything would be done and when you opened them up, you'd be in DL!! Can't wait....oh, I don't feel too too silly having my tree up now that Darkbeer posted the pics of the DL tree UP!!!

DD is going to feel better really soon and you ARE going to be able to make your trip and get everything all done. And IF the kids sleep in the same jammies for 9 nights, so be it! They'll live!

In the meantime, I am donning my old cheerleading outfit and shouting out loudly:

Come on all you Fidoprincess fans and get up off your seat and listen to the rhythm of the Disney beat! Yeah, I said the Disney beat!

Okay, so if my cheerleading doesn't get you motivated I don't know what will! [disappointed? what did you expect from a 39 year OLD lady?] hehehe

I am going to put on some of our disney Christmas movies that tink brought them last year and finish up the christmas stuff. This morning my throat doesn't hurt-yay and now that I've heard your great cheer, I am ready to bust my butt (if I can push myself away from the computer-lol)Well, the cheering helps but also the fact that the piano teacher comes to our house at 2:30 makes a great deadline!

disneywife, I wish I had thought of just putting the clothes in the laundry basket! I could have been doing a little at a time each day when I did laundry. What a simple, good idea. I was putting clothes on top of the dresser and then the kids kept wearing it-lol. I also wish I had 19 days left, only 8 days for me!!! Well, we know you won't be reduced to panic stage right before your trip-lol. Just a tip though, it got cold cold cold at night last year so you better put at least one good warm pair of pants in your basket. I did wear capris the whole time, in the day but when it rained and at night, I ended up wearing jeans and even one night, warm sweatpants! We all had warm coats and hats and gloves, the whole bit because by midnight, it is cold!

Well, I did go vote at least-lol. I hope dd didn't spread her germs but at least they had the new "kids voting" thing and both of mine really enjoyed doing that and I got to use the new touch screen!

Fidoprincess, glad my cheer worked! *wink* Most importantly, I'm glad you are feeling better and DD is having a quiet day recuperating.
