This week the treadmill broke (think it needs to be adjusted) and so I started walking arround town. I timed my self on land and I am doing pretty good I can do 2 miles in 30 min so that is 15 min/per mile which is good for me. Running arround here in Crestline is kinda tough terrain though. I expect the DL route to be all paved and mostly flat. Here in Crestline that doesn't apply. On other news I signed up for a race in Angoura Hills. I figured The Dole Great Race! was something I couldn't pass up. The entry fee was $23 online and you get a t-shirt with it. They are giving medals to the first three in the age categories but that is not going to be me. This race has a half marathon, 10k, 5k, and 1 mile fun run. I signed up for the 5k. http://www.greatraceofagoura.c om/

The record for the 5k is like 15:52 mins, you would have to be cruising at a 4min./mile pace for that one. I weigh at the moment 300 lbs, so that is not going to happen. My goal for this run is a 12:30min/mile pace. That would get me across the finish line in about 40:40 mins. Right now the best I can do is 48 mins but considering when I started I couldn't even walk the distance I consider it a gain. I am guessing most runners will finish it under 30 min and the winner will be arround 18 min. I know I am slow but this is more of a personal thing for me and so I think as long as you can qualify it is a good thing.
