On one trip to WDW during the Disney Marathon ALL roads were shut down on property. Fortunately my party was staying at the Wilderness Lodge so we had boat access to the MK. Those guests staying at the hotels on the monorail loop and having boat access to the MK were the only ones able to get to that park. Even cast members couldn't get to the MK. I also figured that "OK" so what how often does Disney shut down all roads for things like a marathon. Well, this past October Disney had no fewer than 4 marathons on property through the parks. I'm all for Disney having marathons. BUT, come on shutting down all the roads on property? And telling guests there are no buses available till afternoon? Really, really?
