I'm glad that many on here and at the parks enjoy it, but that enjoyment is simply not enough to offset the cost and trouble this addition has caused. It is a glorified Flight to the Moon that will only become more and more stale for years to come. Instead of building a POTC or ToT whose appeal would last for decades to come they spent MUCH MUCH MORE and got bupkis. AND THEN they turned around and built another (while far better) simulator 150 yards away.

But I will tell you that from my first ride in Jan '04, I have been saying it as loud as I could. This is one attraction I unashamedly have a strong bias towards.

An outcome that could be seen a mile away, even if the ride was a huge success IT was still a huge waste of money for something that would have a shorter shelf-life than Star Tours.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros I'm not saying that it is the most popular thing ever, but part of the reason for the walk-ons or the extremely short lines is that MS has a huge capacity. Those two attractions are known for, if nothing else, being some of the biggest people eaters ever made. If MS can cycle through that many people in an hour, then it is easy to keep the line moving and have a short wait.

I have ridden it several times and simply marval at its ability to trick the mind into thinking you are really in a space ship. On the other hand, I have never gotten sick either so my opinion is unclouded with that side effect. Most of the people that do not ride it, don't because of the bad press but the new tamer version should help that situation. Something for everyone, so to speak. Horizons to me, just so I don't appear "polyannish", was boring and I never could figure out what I was seeing in the much acclaimed ending. I tried every one of the options and, quite frankly, didn't see the big deal. The only redeeming quility it had for me was the orange smell by the orange grove. So is it better?...Is it worse?...all a matter of opinion. I'm split on those particular rides. World of Energy has been vastly improved and Soarin' is terrific, Living Seas always was "yawn" and always will be "yawn" but it has it's purpose. Wonders of Life could have been saved with a little upgrading but I was indifferent to it. There you have my Epcot opinions, some are good, some are bad, but all enjoyable in many ways. As soon as I find something in life that is perfect, I'll be sure to let you all know.

WoM I thoroughly enjoyed though.

Everyone wanted more thrill rides. And thats exactly what Disney built in EPCOT.

On top of that, no one was riding it.<< What does one have with the other? Just curious. To address Nikki in #95, I thought that the suits had addressed VBDad's mention of keeping WOM and adding TT. It was a short-lived thought that had to do with operations and sponsership. Looking back, not only might have been a good decision for the guests' enjoyment but it in fact might have been cheaper for them to have built a new structure for the TT ride and avoid the changeover problems that they experienced. Nevertheless, most at Disney are just fine with having a crowded Test Track with no WOM to maintain and operate. It was a short-lived, preliminary, what-if kind of idea. One that Arstogas a couple years back tried to embelish and blue sky with the rider staying in the same vehicle for both attractions. But that has nothing to do with Horizons condition. These were decisions made way before Horizons was the big black sheep. However, back to your comment Lewis, you may be successful in regurgitating the structual excuse tied to Horizons but you are incorrect in saying that Horizons saw no riders. Besides, HISTA and SGE show visible lines waiting to enter their respective areas. Does that mean Disney shouldn't re-evaluate those attractions? Does that mean those are wonderful attractions that should make the Top 7 things to do in WDW. Oh yeah, that's right, one of them already did. SGE is a must do, SSE is not. >>Technologically speaking, Mission Space is awesome. Repeat visits is what really drives ride counts for the big E-Tickets. M:S should have taken some of the load off TT when it came to repeat visits and E-ticket crowds. It didn't. >>Horizons to me, just so I don't appear "polyannish", was boring and I never could figure out what I was seeing in the much acclaimed ending. It doesn't surprise me that you "couldn't see the big deal". Agreeing with the reasons why Disney felt Horizons was junk isn't shakin' the Pollyana appearance. >>World of Energy has been vastly improved and Soarin' is terrific<< I think you're talking about Universe of Energy. I agree with you. >>Wonders of Life could have been saved with a little upgrading but I was indifferent to it.<< Me too. But I don't think a little upgrading was going to do anything. Razing WoL is one removal I'm all for. >>There you have my Epcot opinions, some are good, some are bad, but all enjoyable in many ways. Do I have the hard statistics? No! I am 58 years old believe me I know nothing is perfect or even close to it. My comment was directed towards those that think everything has to be perfect or it is wrong. I do enjoy Disney and I am forgiving of a few minor flaws because until I become perfect I surely cannot expect others to be.
