Vestas has wind turbines that can generate 3 Megawatts of electricity. That's enough juice to power 30,000 100 Watt light bulbs, or enough to power about 2000 houses that use 1000 KWh per month.

A quick buck? You make it sound like they're selling snake oil.

Vestas has invested millions in building factories in the USA and is hiring Americans, unlike "American" companies that offshore their factories to China.

If only more "American" companies operated like Vestas we might not be in the middle of a depression, with 17% unemployment (U6 index).

I do think at this point, wind turbines are cheaper, and don't require modifications to your home...just a different source for the power. If I had the room for it, I would seriously consider installing a wind turbine in my yard.

My understanding is that the bottleneck with photovoltaic solar panels has been in efficiency (as in wattage generated per square foot of solar panel). There is a great deal of expensive research being done (a lot strange quantum physics is involved here, its anything but simple) in trying to improve this, but they have a long way to go.

Nope, but the Rangers lost. So, since the world ending was apparently a possible effect of a Bush throwing out the first pitch, I'll go with it was his fault the Rangers lost.

While I'm mostly happy with Travis County races, overall (and including some stuff in my Pct, Pct 2) I'm pissed off at my fellow Texans today.

Thank God that my Aunt Jeanne successfully defended her seat, and Thank God that Whitman and Fiorina both failed!
