During the last recession both DLR and WDW saw significant drops or a flattening of attendance. This recession is far more severe and yet is appears that the west coast parks are humming along. I'm guessing that it's the discounts.

The cheap SoCal APs might indeed be the cause (plus the other deals) but it could also be a case of "hedonic subsitution". People might be visiting DLR more as a substitute for a more expensive vacation. Who knows?

Should say "most" Vacationers dont know about... Im a vacationer and know about fastpass and single rider... it is kinda nice having that knowledge when the others dont though...It amazes me how many vacationers who use the system of fastpass waste getting Fastpasses on rides that dont need them like Big Thunder, Star Tours or Buzz.

My family planned on going to Disneyland anyways, but this deal extended our trip. We'll be there for 5 days instead of 3 next week.

I purposely do not buy my kids the Deluxe or higher because I do not like taking them in the summer. Too much sun, and it's *usually* hot. My kids don't do well in heat, unless they're in the pool.

Yeah, so much for the theory that summer is now the best time to go, since all the SoCal APs are blocked.
