Our son put an open faced peanut butter sandwich in the slot of our VCR. :) And he was our "easy" child...by far! He seldom threw a temper tantrum. However, our daughter, on the other hand, started out early, like Amazed's daughter. Around the age of 18 months. And to be honest, I'm not sure that she's ever stopped!! haha Just kidding But it seemed like they went on and on and on for years. She turned out to be a great kid (she's 30 now) but she was not an easy child.

I was reminded recently by a dear sweet friend about a special memory I have. Sometimes I listen to the song, Love Is A Song (from Bambi), because it always makes me think about my daughter when she was just a small girl. Most everyday she would come home from preschool, run to her room, and put on one of her princess gowns complete with bent tiara, over-sized plastic slippers and every single piece of jewelry she could find.
I know to most people she must have looked a sight. But, to me, she was every bit a princess.
I close my eyes and I can still see her.
Now, years later, she has packed away the princess gowns. And I realize, that time of our lives has very much passed. Life IS swift and fleeting. Cherish each moment of it with those you love. Even when they're doing something kind of ornery, it makes for the biggest laughs when it's all said and done.

    Love Is a Song

Love is a song that never ends
Life may be swift and fleeting
Hope may die yet love's beautiful music
Comes each day like the dawn

Love is a song that never ends
    One simple theme repeating
Like the voice of a heavenly choir
    Love's sweet music flows on
