I keep calling him on his nonsense because I know he's capable of better. But when I try to say something of substance and am met with mindlessness (see 41/42, for example)... perhaps I should just let it go, but I DO expect better from Doug and so I pipe up. There are people like mawnck who haven't been around as long who were surprised that he ever did anything BUT the nonsense, but he used to. Really. I keep waiting for that guy to come back.

I just don't know if people realize how much it detracts from whatever else they have to say. People on these boards are really thoughtful and insightful and I love seeing the banter. (I admit I am a left leaning moderate, but I like hearing things that make me think or possibly reconsider a position) I don't want to tell anyway how to use their posts or what to do. I just needed to vent because I see too many topics that are really interesting to me get derailed and abandoned after the sniping ensues. And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
