But I see things differently with education since I've had friends and family involved for many years. As for the environment it should be up to the individual to do their part. Not some cockamamie idea that the Obama administration came up with last week.

This may be the most delusional thing you've ever written here, and you've written some pips.

No disrespect, he can't help his physical condition, but he wasn't the right man for the job to begin with. I think my state had a far better choice in our primary. We didn't vote McCain in our primary.

In either case, I'm giving him a fair shake. But I won't listen to any of this crap that's already starting up about "well it's Bush's legacy, Bush's fault, he is just trying to fix it." okay back to topic, sorry

She and her antics were a *gigantic* drag on the ticket.

Any fence sitters that voted Dem did so because of McCain. Now I will admit that a lot of would be republican voters stayed home, but they didn't vote Obama because of Palin. Don't misunderstand, or ToonMan will throw a brick at me...I am not defending Palin. I'm just saying she isn't the cause for the loss. Maybe she didn't help that much, but it was lost long before her. In fact, I don't think anything or anyone (especially after listening to the press pound Bush day in and day out for 8 years) could have defeated Obama this election.

Originally Posted By Mr X ***is laughable. Any fence sitters that voted Dem did so because of McCain.*** I'm sorry, but no. I feel that your position of thinking that Palin wasn't relevent to some peoples' decision making is laughable. Like I said, just look at the comments that Powell made. He specifically cited HER as one of the reasons he was endorsing Obama. And he's a REPUBLICAN, for pete's sake. Others said much the same thing (George Will, for instance). There were TONS of fence sitters out there who found Palin to be reason enough to vote the other way. Heck, lots of moderates actually LIKE McCain (like many here on these boards). They don't like her, though. ***Imagine how we conservatives feel about VP Biden.*** Or anyone else who was or would have been on the ticket. Anyway, personally I think Biden's an okay guy (needs to shut his mouth more often though), and I would feel reasonably confident if he became President that he would do a competent job if not all that inspiring. Palin, on the other hand, I would have no confidence in. I'd be scared every day that she would irreparably harm the nation somehow by doing something naive, stupid, or downright crazy.
