I see. But is that the entirety of the reference? I thought there must be some over-arching reference to some fictional or historical character called The Weatherman. In doing a search right now, several things come up, but I don't really see any that make any sense.

If all it is is a reference to Iger's career start, then I'm very disappointed, and I take it back: it will no longer make me laugh.

    Sorry to disappoint, SD.

But Iger has a huge ego, something that Micheal Eisner was accused of many times. And he (like many in La-La Land) wishes to forget his humble roots. He has a personal security team that billionaire media moguls (ones that actually own their companies, instead of just being the top manager) don't have, which has always struck me as very odd (does he think that Horizons-loving fanbois have put a hit out on him?!?) Bringing up his weatherman start could possibly end careers, which I find very amusing.

People accused Eisner of wanting to be 'the next Walt' ... and that was true to some extent. But Iger wants to reinvent 'the Disney Brand' in his own technoid geeky image where content is most definitely not king, but platform and merchandising are ... in other words, he's like the typical weatherman: annoying and greatly overstating his importance and intelligence.

So ... you may or may not laught at the reference, but I do know he tends to seethe at it in private (not when he hears it/reads it from me, of course, because I am a Spirit of little consequence ... )

    Hah!
I put a hit out on him way back when he pulled the plug on Twin Peaks.
(It has since been rescinded due to the fact he made up for it with Lost.)

Considering another one, though....if I can find a hitman who will carve the word "Kungaloosh" into the bullet.

I kid, of course....don't want a visit from that security team.

The assasin would have to use a Minigun to fulfill the wishes of all the displaced AC fans.

Sorry, will try harder next time.

But I can't take credit (except in the Disney online world) for The Weatherman tag ... I heard it from an ABC producer years ago and it stuck.

I fully take 100% credit for Walmarting and Inoverhearheadmeg, though!

She said they were in front of SSE...No, you are behind it.

She called the American Adventure the American Pavilion.

She called the Fountain of Nations the EPCOT Fountain.

(Meanwhile everyone else called it the Communicore Fountain)

Little things, yes, but COME ON. It's YOUR company. Know your History. Know the proper names of things. If you don't know about that, how the hell can you run the parks?

    Poorly, it seems.

If you care about that, you care about her image and her knowledge of the resort, and how she speaks to an audience that's there for the best. They are like politicians, in my eyes. They need to know how to speak and how to present, and also how to manage and make choices.

    Like Walt.

    Like Roy.

    Like Card Walker.

    Like Eisner.

Even like Iger, who, I must say does a pretty good job of PR.... But then again, he's used to the camera, no?

Got into an argument at work last week over the fact despite what they thought there was NO such thing as the Walt Disney World Company.

One of the shifts I works this week I was put with a CM that throughout the conversation told me I was such a disney freak (which okay is true) but it was because I had been to DAK and seen Lion King AND had been to MK and seen Hall of Presidents since Obama was added. Oh and later because I knew WHAT and Where Min n Bills Dockside Diner was (Umm we were working WITHIN sight of the boat and she had worked at the Studios for over a year)
