Yes it gives you an idea of what the inside looks like but it really is a bad refernce to make a final decision on what the attraction ahs to offer. The attraction has been receiving very good reviews from people that have ridden it. The 3d and 4d effects are spectacular and the somewhat chaotic pace of the attraction along with the spinning sensation and the layout of the main showroom really emerse you into the environment. Is it an "E" ticket? no it was never meant to be one but it really is a very interactive experience that uses many levels of effects to make you feel like you have been reduced to size and transported into a real midway fair.

Based on the last few attractions, is there a worrisome trend that would lead to an unbalance (in the force) in my themepark experience? California Adventure is a unique situation because there was such an unbalance at the beginning the whole park never got its footing. The various attempts to provide balance, so far, suffer from what I would call "lack of a serious effort". A Tower of Terror that is inferior to what we know WDI can do. A Monster's Inc attraction that is good, a solid B effort by most accounts, but hasn't done enough to draw the crowds. But Toy Story Midway Mania doesn't seem to suffer from a "lack of serious effort." Instead it is a very serious attempt to fill a need, or at least a perceived need. That need being to entertain today's youth who grow up on video games and the like. The question is are they correct in their assumptions? So that's a different discussion than what the OP is suggesting.

There was simply a wrong headed set of assertions that are basically indefensible. (Unless simply jumping up and down while bellowing is some sort of "defense.") Nicely, I will ask: Has the OP experienced this attraction? If not, on what basis would the OP make a series of assertions that I find wrong?

To me that will determine if the attraction is any fun.

Some people want to ride 'screamin' - others don't. Those that do want to manage to hit that one attraction and then vamoose. Those guests that don't want to ride a roller coaster probably don't want to ride spinners and drop rides either. Part of the imbalance within the park is that up until now the offerings along the pier have largely been low-brow carny rides. To round out the area's theming they added corn dogs, pizza, mcdonalds and a schlocky dinosaur. The "problem" (if there is one) isn't with the brand new attraction. It's everything else that's all around it - with the notable exception of 'screamin' which is a fun coaster.

You have a problem with something someone says in a post you use the Report to Moderator link.... The ride looks impressive, i can't wait until DLP gets a clone of it.

Lots going on that will affect DCA, Disneyland and some of the other parks future. Lots of exciting things happening. I think Midway Mania is a great start that will begin to balance the overall experience in DCA. Its finally the first attraction in the pier that anyone of any age will be able to ride and enjoy. for now I will keep any details up to Al and Honor they have some very accurate info lately
