I have no idea how many ships pass through that area, but I'm sure the HKDL hotels have MUCH prettier views of the bay there. So, I understand Lee's points.

When the weather is foggy, there really isn't much to see, but on days when the weather is clear.. yoou can get a view of Mount Fuji to the west and even a clear view of areas as far away as Yokohama across the Bay. >>I did stay in Odaibai once for anyone who knows is a sleek shopping area that is situated on Tokyo Bay and a few stops from TDR and while the hotel was really nice, the 'view' of freight ships and a fleet of factories wasn't exactly inspiring<< Then you paid for the cheaper room because my view of Rainbow Bridge and Downtown Tokyo was breathtaking from my north-facing room in the Nikko Hotel. BTW... that would be the "Odaiba" area. >>I have no idea how many ships pass through that area, but I'm sure the HKDL hotels have MUCH prettier views of the bay there. So, I understand Lee's points.<< There are no big freighters passing thru that area, but you do see a lot of small ships, yatchs and ferry boats cruising thru that area. The nearby isles are very pretty, and if you are lucky to get a room that affords view of the China Sea and part of the Discovery bay area to the west... your enjoyment will be enhanced.

Don't get me wrong, the view didn't exactly spoil the mood and I certainly don't remember complaining to you about getting laid...at least not that night ;D. Yeah, take my wife to Odaibai for our honeymoon, that would've been a great start lol. It was a great few days though despite the view and I think we are getting just an itsy bit off topic ;D.

I love the intimacy and exclusiveness of the MiraCosta. Personally, I think it looks much more elaborate and beautiful than the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel (from the concept art). It's simply the most amazing Disney hotel I've ever stayed at (and I've stayed at almost every deluxe Disney hotel). I don't know what leemac meant by the views being of a weird angle; the only rooms that I can think of that offered a slanted view of the harbor was the piazza view rooms.

I just think the MiraCosta's Old World Italian theme is much more opulent and beautiful. I doubt the attention to detail in the new Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will even come close to rivaling that of the MiraCosta. The MiraCosta has the most beautiful exterior out of any of the Disney hotels in my opinion. Same goes for the interior; I never found the lobby too small. I like the rotunda shape of it and the ceiling murals. Much prettier than the lobbies of other deluxe Disney hotels. The main entrance alone is breathtaking with the marble fountain. I guess it's just not suited to leemac's taste.

From what I've been told, there are very few rooms that offer park views. Even the ones that do offer park views are not that impressive. The train station blocks most of the view of Main Street and you only get a glimpse of the castle sticking over the station if you're lucky. Not anywhere near as spectacular as the MiraCosta's views. However, the views of the entrance plaza is quite pretty. I actually prefer it over the park views.
