Knowing you work for Disney helps explain why you've never posted anything slightly negative about the Mouse. 2. To build on your metaphor, I'd rather confront the brother's drug abuse than pretend he doesn't have a problem while continuing to enable his addiction.

Sad how LP meets that used to last 3-4 days take 1/2 day and are all locals and still less than a dozen people.. Too many resort guests operating on a budget or using WDW dining options that keep them at their own resort? Lack of bookings at the franchised resort hotels in the PI area as opposed to Disney hotels which are spread out across the property.

Certainly contributors were guests bringing children into that area and the increasing Sheriff's Deputy presence in that area. I really don't see how attandence at the Downtown Disney Hotels played a factor. If anything you could easily make the arguement that with the presence of Sarasota Springs Resort just across the lake ( with it's own walkway ) the crowds around Downtown Disney areas increased not decreased. I know another factor is that WDW management made a decision to decrease management of everything, from restaurants to golf courses. This brought in the era of Landry food consessions everywhere on WDW property. I always hoped that perhaps WDW had come up with a grand plan for the area. Unfortunately, it seems that other than the constant build of DVCs, AoA resort and Fantasyland expansion, any other construction project at WDW seems is on the back burner.

I recently read on another site a thread started by the Spirit, and his post and most of the rabid responses were so over the top negative that it was just funny to read. I think the Spirit got tired of being so negative and not getting the response that he wanted. When enough people disagree with you, all the time, then maybe it's time to go somewhere else.

They are employees of a big company like many of us. And those of us who work for large companies know that make substantial changes is difficult or impossible because of culture or structure. I also don't miss the endless quoting of previous posts and take them apart line by line. My feeling was make your point and move on. Having said that...I think the boards are not as interesting now that many of the long time posters have moved on.

I do spend time on facebook and have about 25-30 people here ( or were here ) that I am connected to..including a few of those listed as the controversial people. it was just a general overall tone that I am checking to see if it has left yet. Heck when I left quietly ..it was actually saner in W/E than WDW. I do miss a lot of the long time posters though - especially the ones I do not have on facebook. This was more in the later months than the earlier years... not quite sure what happened to The Spirit. The sad fact is, most of the "INSIDE INFORMATION" you learn from mid-level Disney execs ends up being no better than what you hear from the newbie CM at the entrance to Buzz who has been on the job exactly two weeks!
