I listen to O'Reiley and I gave you a concrete example. Care to comment?

How about when O'Reily donated money from his own private charity ( yes he has one ) to a "black" organization in NYC and while at the podium made the statement that "some of the kids are probably in the parking lot right now stealing hubcaps". Care to comment?

I never knew watching a talk-opinion show was doing something about changing the system.

I thought that changing the system included becoming an informed voter, joining an advocacy group that actually works to change laws. Not sitting on my keister watching Bill O'Reilly spout his opinions as gospel.

I have watched about 5 minutes total of that show and have not found it interesting, informative or entertaining. I have no time to watch what I consider junk on TV.

I'd rather become as educated as possible on issues and, if necessary, act upon the opinions I personally formed, not adopted hook, line and sinker from some "know-it-all-but-discounts-the-opposing-view-pundit". If I want a law changed, I don't watch TV, I write my legislators.

I wonder if you'll answer these simple questions or maybe people here will see that you are just lashing out.

Now several! That's the way to discuss and everything you said is true!
That is exactly why I don't LOVE but like how he is effecting social chang. I know his motives have a LOT to do with ratings as I am not naive. I also know politicians on both sides of the aisles are the same. I'm at a point though, that no matter WHAT the motive, I'll take positive action, even as I have to hold my nose sometimes
Let me see what else to respond to?
To Mulan-----------Obviously to me watching the talks on tv, newsprint does a lot of good as it propels people to action. If you don't know the news than how can you change the system? I thought that was pretty obvious and why 100's of millions watch the news, talks, and read the paper.
5 minutes and you made up your mind Mulan? That is not an indication of your ability to reason through a topic.
That is also why my question under Community Discussion was an ability for people to change their minds and by your thinking here it proves my point that a lot of people are NOT.

I do agree with your stop to the personal attacks and hope you can stop as well as the rest of us intense people who at least care enough to get passionate. We're all a lot better IMHO than the do-nothings and say-nothings of the world.

I haven't. So, I would say, I've given the neoconservative view more time than I have the liberal view and I didn't like being essentially yelled at because the personal beliefs I've formed from my own, uninfluenced observations of things was evil. My beliefs are not evil, your beliefs are not evil, it's the delivery of your beliefs that is as it allows for no calm, intelligent discourse. Calm, intelligent discourse of an opposing view is more likely to get me to reconsider my opinion than Bill O'Reilly pounding his fist on a desk, or the likes of you and Beaumandy being the equivlaent of internet bullies saying "belive what I say or else."

    I'm perplexed here Mulan?
