Although I only live 25 miles from the resort, a round trip is 50 miles and about 4 gallons of gas (give or take).

We used to go at least 3-4 times a week, but now are lucky if we make it there one day on the weekend. Summer is not going to be as much fun as we're used to this year, I'm afraid.

And, the sad thing is, we still really don't know who to blame this gas price increase on, do we??

I'm willing to pay that price once or twice a year. Oh and about buying an AP I always should but never do because I'm scared that it will curse me and I won't make it back in time to use it.

We are going to be there for a week in June, but as far as San Diego goes...maybe the train! I dont know, I need to compare the rates! Right now I am paying about $78.00 to fill my tank, so we shall see, plus I hate going somewhere and not having my vehicle!

Yeah, the cost is a bit more than it was to drive. It takes 3 tanks of gas to get there and back (and I drive really darned fast on I-5). That's $140 in gas. My girlfriend and I can't fly down there and get a car for the same price, even before the wild spike in gas prices a roundtrip flight to Southern California was about $80 a person and then we'd have to rent a car.

So, while gas prices are ridiculously higher than they were even a year ago, it's hardly a vacation killer.

The only thing higher gas prices have caused me to do, is to eliminate my "go for a drive" activities, and to consolidate my trips, such as doing all my shopping on one day.

I will continue to do so regardless of gas prices. Moving to AZ was a smart deal for us.

Last year's AAA pkg included a $150 gift card to be used in the park (for specified dates/stays). Maybe they should think about some sort of gift card towards gas purchases. Hmmmmm
