I agree though MK has a bad track record. >>I'd prefer venues like the Galaxy to remain empty if it is only going to get filled with this stuff.<< I guess I disagree. Galaxy is a big waste of space. I do not believe MK, and DL for that matter, really needs a show venue anymore. MGM, DAK, & DCA really work better, IMO. At least DL's Fantasyland Theater is used. For Cinderella, they could do it anywhere, even bring back the old Fantasyland Faire stage. For me, using the Castle is another issue of Entertainment hijacking the park for what they deem important. They want the castle as the backdrop for all the pomp and circumstance of a poorly written show. I believe that more people would rather have easy access to the Castle/FL than have the castle sit there blocked off to only serve as a set piece.

However, I really believe they (operationally) and the resort guests are better served with these shows at MGM & DAK.

My opinions are pretty jaded, so I don't mind when people disagree w/ 'em. Just, please, don't take my POVs as any more than what they are. It's not an attack on your right to an opinion. Your opinion is not putrid, imo, the shows are.

Let's be fair here Leemac. >>Turgid story, sexist dialogue and terrible music.<< Yes, agreed. This is where the MK's version went south for me... TDL's version was a musical show with minimal blah blah blah... It was all eye candy like only TDL could produce. >>The sooner it gets tugged the better.<< Agreed again... after one year of this show at WDW and 4 years at TDL... Cinderellabration has become stale. Catch it at TDL once again people this January!! Farewell season!! ...and see why WDW's version sucked.

Let's go back down memory lane... shall we? Who can remember the *original* "Cinderellabration" show at the MK on New Year's Eves thru the 70's?? Who can remember the 4th of July Star Spangle Spectacular or the "Sparkling Xmas Spectacular" shows that used to grace the Castle Stage during holidays... Or how about the "Tencennial Birthday Party" castle show back in 1981..Or over at the Tomorrowland Theater.. (or Galaxy Theater for those who do not remember that far back...) when shows like "Disney World Is your World" or "Show Biz Is" (not the same one from TDS Lee) used to pack this venue to standing room only.... THOSE were the glorious days of entertainment at WDW, and memories that will last me a lifetime.

WDW doesn't provide more than insipid foamhead 'entertainment' and character meet-and-greets because that's what the Orlando execs believe tourists want.

So open and exposed that there is little they can do with it. Both D-MGM and DAK are show-heavier to keep guests in the park longer. MK doesn't have that issue and that is why I don't think anything will change any time soon. <<WDW doesn't provide more than insipid foamhead 'entertainment' and character meet-and-greets because that's what the Orlando execs believe tourists want.>> The point is that they are right. Tourists don't seem to mind there being no shows at MK. I wish there was at least one decent show at MK but then DL's Snow Whte is pretty dire and TDL's One Man's Dream II and Minnie O Minnie aren't much better. DLP and HKDL's shows are excellent but overall it is a mixed bag as far as the Magic Kingdoms go.

That is the TDR model right now and although I know Legend of Mythica will change that it doesn't make up for a lot of bad shows in the past few years.

The fact that we still get big and lavish productions is a testament to the fact that the majority of guests do enjoy them. Me included. As for Mythica... yes, it will be a big production...and yet, I am still cynical about it. I will reserve my opinion for the day I get to see it. Mr. Flamboyant Imagineer Steven seems to favor the "over the top" approach..

The Legend of Mythica is incredible. Everything works in that show from the music to the sets to the performers. It is exactly what TDS needs. It is the anti-Porto Paradiso Water Carnival.

Too often the locally produced shows like Aladdin's Whole New World throws everything out at once and then there are no surprises. Mythica has surprises by the boatload.

As for Mythica.. yes, I am looking forward to the many surprises it will unveiled as the show goes on... especially how floating stages will evolve and grow taller, etc etc. Looking forward to seeing Mickey 60 feet above the lagoon.

Lucky for us, TDL still has some decent entertainment shows at the Diamond Horseshow.. two different shows daily in fact.

"The Legend of Mythica is incredible. Everything works in that show from the music to the sets to the performers. It is exactly what TDS needs. It is the anti-Porto Paradiso Water Carnival." How do you know this, have you seen it yet? I know you've probably seen all of the details and concepts, but how can you say it's incredible if it's not been performed yet?
