Oh, I didn't know that there was a blackout fee. I suppose it would all depend on how willing someone would be to shell out more money on top of whatever they'd paid for the AP, plus food and other expenses. In any case, I commend Disney for trying to control the crowds coming through the gates.

I'm more concerned about this close early business that Al was talking about. If I have to spend half the afternoon in a holding pen waiting for the show, finally see the show, and then a big chunk of the park is closed after 8pm it will certainly make a less appealing place to visit for me.

So the rest of the park is open until 10, with the corral likely opening at 10pm, and moving the show location at like 10:30-45.

Not too bad. I have doubts it will stay that popular for that long, at least enough to warrent the DJ's and etc..

And side note - it's like 10pm. Why not use the Warf dining area? It's closer, relatively "open" and you can feed the people should you so choose.

Everyone who got there in the 4:30-7pm gap (maybe it was 6pm? regardless it was an hour) was corralled into holding areas around the park. Liberty Square was one of them - and there's nothing to do in Liberty Square. No one complained, they just hung out and waited.

It was known, given, and expected. If they inform people, people can make the choice to comply or not.

They should have created a show viewable and enjoyable from many different angles, such as the way BraviSEAmo! is handled at Tokyo DisneySea. There are certainly one or two "preferred" spots to watch the show from, but it's very watchable from nearly all angles.

You just rattled off 7 attractions not including TSMM. That's a lot ride capacity shut down when the there are expected to be the most people in the park, especially considering that Screamin is one of the most popular rides in the whole resort. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out... I certainly won't be planning a down there until I hear the reports.

Yes, and up until recently I assumed that a casual viewer could watch the show from any angle. I think that the viewing area should be a first come first serve thing and cordoned off late afternoon to allow the first audience to begin assembling. This holding thing sounds like something that I'll hate.

    "MNSSHP and MVMCP"

    What?

Otherwise known as, gauging the guests one more time. They are organize extra events you have to pay for and in the case of the Xmas party, it's almost paying AGAIN for pretty much what they used to give for free.

    Gotta love Disney!

There is a poster in the TDR section who must be missing an "s" and "d" key on his board because he cannot pluralize(as in "They want the best for guest who visit the park")and he cannot "ed" the end of words(see what I did above).

I am actually starting to think he's a little bit, how do you Americans say it, "Special Ed"?

    That's just wrong.

Disneyland Resort shouldn't expect a love fest from the average DL guest just trying to visit DCA and hit a few rides with their family and friends if seeing the show is a hassle and a large section of the park is closed during the show. Being herded around for several hours before the start of WOC, and then fighting for a good viewing spot will not put me in the best of moods on a hot summer day. Of course it could all turn out fine. I certainly do hope for the best. We'll see.
