Having an active submarine lagoon certainly will bring much needed life and energy to a section of Tomorrowland, but there is still a lot of work to do if this part of Disneyland will ever become a glimpse into the future again.

I think imagineering and DL missed out on an opportunity to liven things up in Tomorrowland by not doing more with the Space Mountain refurb a couple of years back. There were some rumors at the time of an integration of Space Mountain and the Peoplemove track. I think this would have been a fantastic idea. The thought to merging space transport with terrestrial transport seems like an idea that hasn't been explored yet among all the transportation themed offerings in Tomorrowland. Having Space Mountain vehicles zoom around Tomorrowland before launching into space would have been a fun concept -- much moreso than adding the latest Top 40 music to the soundtrack.

Unless they reinvented them like the ones used at USJ where they have hundreds of LED lights on them that pulse to music. THAT would be cool to see running above Tomorrowland!

We now have an actual transportation mechanism to get people from the heart of Tomorrowland out to an entirely different area. If need be, disallow disembarking in FL during parades, plus allow Guests to ride around as many times as they want--there certainly would be the capacity for it.

Also, I think someone else proposed this a while back, allow the ability to select either narration, music, or silence. Indeed, narration could even be made available in multiple languages.

I sigh just thinking about how great it really could be.

    Sigh.

Hey FBR ... did you catch Lutz's update a few months back? ... Outlined why a Peoplemover has not been brought back yet? Issue is people's capability to get their heads, arms, legs outside the vehicles .. and reach the sides of buildings.

The prospect of another Open-Air train format (same as the original '67) has been ruled out!

So ... the word is ..... Imagineering is looking at different Peoplemover formats .. where people are more contained within their vehicles ... and can't reach outside!

    That's the reason.

Not the same old ideas us bloggers continue to hypothesize.

Also the people mover was inclosed with this special glass that you can see through, and also turns into a movie screen all around you.

I think another abject failure of TL 98 was the color scheme. (Waits for hissing to die down.) I always despised it. Also, while I generally like the pavement upgrades in the park, I've never liked the TL pavers. They are very unsighly and always have been.

Every time I see yellow and purple pansies, I think of the 1967+ TL entrance. :(

I think that the color scheme now is ugly. I like the blues but they don't mix well with the remainder of the gold. It's gotta be either one or the other.

But I suppose this is a bit off my own topic. I just got back from my annual trip to DL, and to me Tomorrowland is really only missing something on the RR track to become "whole" again. Sure, Star Tours and Innoventions, and even HISTA, all should be changed/upgraded, but I'll at least feel like the land has enough to offer when the subs open and something is moving along the elevated track.

I liked the palette of TL98 when it opened, but it didn't wear well. If it were up to me, I'd like to see the resort in more regal and stately colors - maroons, burgundys, russets, violets - with splashes of bright magentas and yellows.

Quick - somebody put me in charge!
