I am pretty sure that it is the only attraction in all of WDW that I loathed. I am very pleased to hear of its passing and I am looking forward to something in the future. A Poo playground, of all things, would be 10x better.

I wouldn't want to step foot into a poo playground. :)

How can anyone dislike a pavilion dedicated in large part TO FOOD!!! ;-)

Seriously, the Land has always been a favorite of mine because it has stuck to the Epcot ideals since the beginning and its actually been plussed over the years rather than minused!

I've grown to appreciate the Land as I got older.

Someone was right to bring up the "Poo Playground" arguement. The WoL Pavillion is in an ideal location. Its facing you as you walk into that area. ALL the other Pavallions are off to the sides, UoE, MS, TT. But WoL is facing the core of Future World. So what a huge waste of incredible real estate to just have it dedicated to Partys ( isn't the Odessy location much better suited for partys ?).

Next reaction.... the place is dated. Sure its got some kewl rides, I love Body Wars... its so much better than its sister simulator over at MGM, CC is just plain fun. News flash Erenst isn't making any more moves. So its a classic. Now that being said... .the Pavallion its self is just haunting.... its plain spooky... with this dome thing doing on and that weird chandelier.... I felt like I was in Logans's Run and its rejuvination time! I kept expecting lasers to pop out and shoot me at any moment ( particullary scary for the "over" 40 crowd ). Either that or some psychotic robot freezing everying in site. Its just TOO 70s looking.

Whish gives me a great idea.... it could be like EPCOT's version of the Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion. Lets make it a Haunted Pavallion with a 70s space feel to it, killer robots, lasers "rejuvinationg" the over 40s crowd. What a concept. But please, please Disney, don't waste more valuable real estate.

    Tom-

M:S Is really the pavilion that is front and center. WoL is actually tucked back a little off to the side. But I do agree with you that it is a waste of space and the location is strategic to Future World. They really need to build a great attraction here that everyone can ride and that is fully-developed with a full three-acts and good score. It will help fill the gap between the ol' EPCOT Center stalwart, UoE, and the two thrill rides. I would suggest it is not a top priority without an annouced sponser.

How about a movie "the Never Ending Duality of Disney Executives". We'll give you some really good attractions, and some really good refurbs, but then we will turn around, and gut a building. Guess what we're going to do with WOL, that's right nothing. After all why have something all guest can enjoy when we can charge extra for special events, and don't have to staff it all the time. I really am trying hard not to become a constant complainer. I do appreciate the efforts that have taken place, and are taking place now. My only question's are, why take a step backwards by gutting a pavilion with no real replacement? You were offering so much promise for a park I truly love. Why this decision now?

I feel like I am in a newer space watching the Body Wars preshow video then I do watching Star Tours preshow. The waiting area could be made to look more futuristic with medical charts and partitions separating different pods waiting areas. Also, the room with the simulator could be themed and lit to match what is seen in the video (remember that the beginning of the video has doors opening up. Simply put a fake hanger door on the front wall.)
This along with a cleaned up print of the film or digital screens, a new sound system, and other minor tweaks likely for Star Tours would be a relatively inexpensive way to make the attraction as good as new.

Cranium Command has a dated video. However, the animation and story are timeless. Wouldn't it be simple to replace the live action footage with new animation set to the original dialog recordings? The theater could use a bit of an update, replacing some dated colors or fixtures, but for the most part, everyone likes Cranium Command, and it should be easy to make it current.

The Making of Me is a film I enjoy, but would not be crushed if it were removed. The entire central area could be repurposed without much protest from me. At the end of the day, the pavilion's two major attractions are not beyond repair, and the central space is very open and would seem current with a little bit of cosmetic changes.

With the restaurant closed, there are no permanent food locations in Future World East. With at least three food locations in Future World West, it seems odd to me that this is the case.

All of these things would be expensive, for a rehab, but should be quite cheaper then a completely new attraction or pavilion.

Hopefully someone in management will realize the potential for this location, and if parties need so much space, why not build a structure designed for this from scratch?

    2) There is a restaurant in Future World East. It's the Electric Umbrella. With the expanded food court in The Land I really don't see a need for another counter service locale. If a need arises they have the odyssey and FountainView to fall back on. Easier to rehab and reopen them then support an entire pavilion off the beaten path.

As I said earlier, WoL has been DOA for the majority of WDW park guests since at least 2002. This isn't like shutting down something that people have been recently using.

Now wait a sec. I am missing something. Unless disregarding when Disney was extremely clear in their distinctions of what made a WDW exhibit and what made a WDW attraction, how are there less attractions now than ever?

At opening there was no JII, no Seas, no WoL, no Horizons, no Maelstrom. What gives Spirit? What am I missing in 2007.
