I guess now is a good time to admit that I get the same queasy feeling from riding on the Teacups.

Yes, you expect to be safe on the ride, but isn't there something at the back of your mind that says, what if a bolt came loose; what if the track came apart; but still get on the ride. I just don't understand how anyone would think that boarding any ride, especially thrill rides, doesn't have some risk associated with it, Disney Park, or not. Especially at fairs - Do those rides look like something that would have NO risk whatsoever associated with them. That doesn't discount the fact that the parks try to be just as safe as possible - but if there is a risk driving to the park, risk of walking through the parking lot, why don't people think that there is any risk inside the park or on any rides?

Talkto someone in the biz-- this is not an old person phenomenon

Do you think there are no pressures put on your body when you are flying at 500 mph in a highly pressurized cabin. Even the fear factor Trippy talks about exists for many fliers. So why would there be no comparison ? Ask your doctor next time about flying if one has heart issues, high blood pressure etc...see what he says...you'll be surprised. Flying aggravates all of these conditions just as MS does.

I rode it once...was light headed coming off the ride and for about 20 minutes afterwards ( I have low blood pressure and low blood sugar- so am prone to dizziness ( no jokes here now !) - so I avoid the ride, I have that option. Disney didn;t build it for me, but there are other who love it...more power to them.

Can I go on this ride and not have my equilibrium off ? Can I drink another 2 beers and still be sober ? All things we do have consequences..we own the responsibility for taking any risk, including crossing th street by our homes. Disney has enough warnign signs to scare the heartiest person away, if people choose to ignore them it is their call. I accept responsibility for anything I do...once I make that decision
Originally Posted By trekkeruss <<I know M: S is considered a thrill ride. But doesn't it pretty much stay still, with just some thing spinning to make you feel the G forces>> It absolutely does not "stay still." The ride vehicle itself is rotated fast enough to allow you to feel G-forces.

Our sue happy society has to find someone at fault for everything. It is the doctors fault for not being the all knowing entity in the world, it is the persons fault for not knowing their own body, it is the rides fault, the companies fault - etc etc etc... sometimes things happen. How many high school kids die each year playing basketball or other sports from undetected ailments ? How many people fall down the stairs in their home and die or are paralyzed ? It doesn't always have to be be someones fault. Remember a few years back Fabio was riding , I believe maybe the Hulk coaster- and a goose flew into him, could have killed him. Whose fault was that ? The gooses ? IOA's for building a ride in the open ? God's for creating Geese ? When someone is truly at fault we need to make sure things are put right so that safety is always put first, but other times nature takes over. just my 2 cents and not a bash at either poster...they brought up the topic , I chose to expand on it

Stayed off for 5 years, went backon and same thinghappened -- even though this is the same ride system as Star Tours which never bothers me- go figure
