No, it was me. It's just common knowledge. There are two kinds of people that die on airplanes.

    1) Old People
    2) Libs

In actuality, virtually no one outside of group number one really dies on a plane. As we all know, most Libs work at Starbucks and you don't make enough at Starbucks to afford a plane ticket. You get places by hitchhiking or in a 1972 VW Micro-bus.

The few young people that vbdad was talking about either stole the ticket or borrowed the money from a conservative.

Glad I could clear this up for you.

Very strong I might add. Is there a problem with his heart now, not as far as we all can tell but one never knows. All of his blood work that has been taken in the past has come back clean so far but that does not mean that something can't happen in the mean time. Does he go on rides, yes at his own discretion to a certain point. If I feel deep down in my gut that it would not be good for him to go, than he does not go. We normally have the same brain waves anyway so there really is not too much arguing.

As for the parents of that 4 year old child, I feel terribly sad that they lost their child. But, I personally would not have brought my 4 year old on MS even if he did meet the height requirements. That's just my personal opinion. Fear and anxiety can do terrible things to an adult just imagine what it does to a child.

When my son, who had been premature, started complaining about his heart “beepingâ€, I immediately made him a doctor’s appointment. Also, I then took him to a heart specialist and we did a 24 hour heart monitoring test. Luckily, nothing showed on the test. If I hadn’t been aware of his family medical history, I probably would have thought nothing of it. My hubby has been pegging me to ride MS, or to at least let my oldest DS ride. I just feel it would be too intense for us, given our medical history. I know that they didn’t find anything when they tested my oldest DS, but I don’t feel comfortable letting him ride it. My hubby will just have to ride it as a single rider, and me and my DS’s will grab a snack.

LOL Don't mean to sound stupid, but what are PVC's?

Coach, that is my point. I didn’t know that I had a blood pressure problem until I was 31 weeks pregnant and I got sick. I had bad chest pains, shaking, headache, and couldn’t stand up straight. I went to my OBGYN and my blood pressure was 230-something over 140-something. Since my hubby and I were not aware of a history of heart problems in my family, he thought that I was just having heart burn. I was told that if they didn’t get my b.p. down, my child and myself would be dead by midnight. That was my point that “You don't know in some cases unless there are symptoms or something unfortunate happens.†It took my DS and myself almost dieing for me to find out that I have high blood pressure.
I don’t know if you read the first line of my last post, but it started with, “I agree with you coach.†=) I never said that they should have known about the problem. In fact just the opposite, I had 6 months of doctor’s appointments and they never caught my blood pressure when it was high. Medical problems can be missed, if you are not having symptoms in that small window of time that you are at the doctor. That is why I will not let my oldest DS ride MS. I am an optimist and truly believe that parents do everything in their power to keep their children safe, so in no way do I think the parents are at fault for an unknown medical condition.

My mother in law suffers from high blood pressure and heart disease and that is nothing to fool around with. Thank goodness that you and your child had survived. That BP was extremely high. But like you said they can do testing it still can be missed. You just never know. I have and will do everything in my power to make sure that my son is safe and healthy.

Okay first, humblest apologies to Ann.....it was a long quote you cut and pasted and I didn't do a very good job of reading where it stopped and started.

now, Tripster...come back from WE...LOL !....we know libs don't take planes because you don't travel for for the types of jobs they have because they don't work for 'the man', nor are they 'the man' -- it's those darn Republicans who spend all that corporate money flying.....and the libs don't vacation much -- they are busy driving their restored Karman Ghia's to the compound in Hyannis Port to party down with uncle Teddy and listen to fairy tales from John K.....

    :)

You are correct this is a Disney site and it is supposed to be happy but it's hard when you have a post such as this one. I just feel really sad for the families who have lost their loved ones.

The Mythbusters pissed on both a third rail and an electric fence...

My take on this: woman likely had preexisting condition. Tragic. Could have happened on the bus over. MS may have been a factor, but not the cause.

The biggest problem is Disney built a very intense attraction and they go overboard with warning on everything from Big Thunder to Tower of Terror. Most people don't stop to think. But even if they did, if you have an undiagnosed condition, there may simply be nothing to prevent a sad ending.

What bothers me is so many people jump on Disney's case over something like this, which probably had nothing at all to do with the death, while so many people let Disney off the hook for basically killing two people at DL, and injuring a few dozen others, due to lower standards of maintainance and training and godawful executives riding attractions to failure (Paul Pressler's words, anyone remember him?)

I'm as far from Disney apologist as they come, but this wasn't their fault. These things happen. People have died on other attractions. In the past few years alone, there were deaths on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Pirates to name a few. People jump on MS because its intense, but RnRC is too.

I haven't ridden it yet (CHICKEN - cluck cluck cluck), but these deaths don't make me any more reluctant to ride it. I still believe that both of these deaths are tragic coincidences. I don't think this is something that is going to continually happen as a result of this ride.
