I don't think it's 'blind loyalty', I think he provides interesting content for people that are interested in disneyland. Do I hold him personally accountable every time something he discusses doesn't happen? Why would I?

On the other hand, I agree with TP that there's a snide and snotty tone to some of al's detractors that's unpleasant. You may not like al, but you have to admit he usually stays above the fray.

And it's not like he's the new york times and has to adhere to a strict "just the facts ma'am" reportage - it's a "column", nothing more.

    >> Even now there is still some debate whether the golden dreams movie should be moved and saved or just scrapped. <<

This isn't a good sign. How can anyone charged with improving the park even consider continuing much longer with this tired and unpopular film? How long do they think they can continue with ANY film trying to be it's own attraction?

This one should be a proverbial "no brainer". I've said it before - sell the DVD in the giftshop for $100 in an embossed metal tin with a registered certificate of authenticity and a pin. And clear out that clutter to make room for a real attraction.

    >> With some references to Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color tv series from the 60s ? <<

Isn't the opening salvo of the 'believe' fireworks intended to duplicate the opening of the TV show with the red green and blue low-level bursts?

The problem is that this post was completely derailed because you felt it was necessary to find faults about her.

Why not let Al fight his own battles. Is it necessary for you to continually do that for him. He is a grown man and is very much aware of what he writes.

The truth is that he always rushes to write articles of ideas that are just being discussed. Then later uses the excuse that Managment or WDI changed their minds.

Well if he realizes that Burbank and especially WDI changes their mind just as often as their underwear then how is it impossible to believe that when other writers like Jim and Marcie write things the information still has not reached them.

I myself have been surprised on how things change from one minute to the other.

For example, the article that was recently written about how some in WDI wanted to refocused the park to match every aspect of Walt Disney. It even mentined the demolition of the winery to be replaced with a replica of his house.

That was news to me because the day before that was not the case. Oh and by the way i still have not been able to verify where that rumor came from but i do not doubt that someone mentioned that idea and others took off with it. Ideas are thrown around and at the end never revisited.

One thing that worries me is when some of these writers are not careful of what they write. For example the comment that the changes will rival TDS.
The project is still be worked on and things constantly change.

Just with that statement people automatically pictured the transformation that DCA will be getting and if they are not as they pictured it we will see post after post of how WDI failed.

Then these writers that hyped the changes will use the budget was cut or creativity took a turn for the worst excuse to make their old stories valid.

I could confirm though that the information in the first post is pretty accurate at the moment. Come 2009 we might just see something a bit different. Things are still being tested and tweeked

I am sorry but it bothers me that every thread ends up being turned into heated debates on things that consistantly change.

to be fair if the movie stayed it would not have such a high presence as an attraction. think of something in the likes of Lincoln on mainstreet.

Its there but nothing in the list of must do

Rushes? He's posted exactly seven columns in the last five months, and only three of them were about DLR. If there's a problem with al, it's that he's barely producing any relevant content. Snapshots from his vegas vacation don't count.
