Writting a note for an excused abscences

That way they still get paid, and my girls don't fall behind, 2 weeks notices is needed. We have planned our trip to leave on Jan 8th coming back the 14th, and then the girls will have an extra day off, since the 16th is the MLK holiday

    I'm very close to my sister and I would never consider writing a letter on her behalf to a teacher for my niece and nephews, unless she asked me to and I believe she would take offense if I wrote a template for her to copy!

    The fact is you have already mentioned previously that you have strained relations with this family and I feel it does not help your case at all to appear to them that you are trying to take over!

    I'm sure it's for the right reasons as you love your niece and I have already wished you success in another topic but I would just caution you to curb your enthusiasm until you have their blessing!!

    I'm not writting the note for them, I'm giving them ideas on what to put into the letter. They were not sure on what to put into the letter so I wanted to help them out by giving them suggestions. The parents would write the letter to the teachers, not me.

    If an absence is excused; illness, doctor's appointment, death in family, the school sill gets its money. If unexcused, as for a family trip, they do not. I do not want to encourage anyone to lie, but knowing this, I always wrote the notes to the school stating that my children were out due to something the state accepts as excused. In my experience this is what teachers and schools care about.

    If it is a private school do whatever seems best.
