WDW was always the best, with Universal as a close second. But in the past 5 or so years I've watched a metamorphosis that has really dropped the entire resort down a few pegs, the worst part coming from seeing how disrespectful those in charge of the MK act toward the legacy of Walt Disney. It's really a shame. <<BTW, Many thoughts to you Imagineer in the Bayou by the way with that awful Oil spill. In terms of the parks, maybe I wear Rose tinted glasses as most people do when children. I have no trouble in accepting your rationale about the MK management.

You'll remember this is the same media that didn't jump on the ecological aspects of the story until weeks after the explosion. Ecologically, economically this one's gonna be devestating and it's not going away anytime soon.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a "Katrina"-bump in WDW bookings as people look for other places to vacation this summer and next.

We need some modern day HMs. Some SSEs. Some BTMRs. Not more Pirates, Princesses, and Pixies.

It's all they have. Disney, on the other hand has both franchises and their own storytelling. HM, POTC, BTMR, and the franchises...There needs to be a mix.

I mean, do you know how many stories you can tell with the premise "suddenly something goes wrong!!!"

All the art I've seen for it shows that it will be a much smaller mountain than Everest, probably smaller than even Splash. They show that it's low to the ground and weaves through a lot of ditches, which takes advantage of the limited height. Due to the small scale of the park (and the proximity of real mountains), having a large mountain attraction would be quite difficult to pull off. I don't think those two attractions will be any more similar than the Haunted Mansion and Finding Nemo.
