First, Indy isn't coming to MK or WDW in any sense beyond the current ancient stunt show.

Second, anyone who has seen the way Indy was integrated into DL would know the franchise certainly fits.

Fourth (yeah, there isn't a third today because I would have drank it!), I'd argue that if done correctly (like Indy at DL) that 'non-Disney' properties fit better than Disney ones. Look at the Aladdin spinner at MK vs. Indy at DL. Look at ST at DL vs. Stitch at MK etc.

Fifth (oops drank that one too).

Sixth, Disney can and is building quality top flight attractions (from Asia to Anaheim to France). They just aren't doing so in Orlando and that's what you guys should be angry about and holding a sit in at the Adventureland Veranada (since the restrooms will be hosting the Erin Wallace/Phil Holmes Appreciation Day Fanboi Meet-Greet-and-Grope!)

I'd love to see LOTR realized in a theme park, but I would bet Disney would never do it. Much to "adult" for their tastes.

Exactly. IJA is so boss it got a place in TDS.

Look at all of the creative output of the last 80 years.

    So much has sat untapped.

Stuff that would/could/should be featured in all the parks.

Potter, I believe, was a special case where Disney should have bent over backwards (like a fanboi at an Imagineering party) to do whatever was needed to acquire the rights.

But beyond that? Sorry, Disney has so much to work with, but they limit themselves based on franchises and current properties and what marketing tells them.

That's why Pooh, Tink/Faires, Pirates, Stitch and Nemo are constantly overused while great properties collect dust.

That's because Disney ones suck, as of late, and should't really find their way into any land save for FL, as was originally intended.

AL for Adventures, TL, for Future, FroL for History, and FL for Disney's brand of Fantasy.

Everything else goes to a Studios park.

And really? Comparing those crappy attractions the the E Tics that ST and IJA are? That isn't a fair comparison at all. Of course Indy "works" better than Stitch or Aladdin. Anything does.

It is. But it is still a great attraction.

And, as I learned on my last visit, the front row is almost smooth. So, I'll be sitting there on all future visits.

I think building it was also a cost issue since CTX was manufactured around the same time and why am I even discussing this?

Then you boys should have a wrestling match and settle it. Winner gets a turkey leg, melted Dole Whip and LE pin that has sat at a Disney outlet for 18 months without any takers.

    Exactly.

    The Spirit gets it.

Disney is a creative industry. They can do their own thing in their own setting created just for that. That's the basis of DL/MK...A place where Disney could create stories and magic that they couldn't make movies on. There's PotC for you. There's HM. There's JC.

All the stuff that IS synergy, that IS Franchisees goes in to FantLand,if it fits, or Studios, which was created exactly for those purposes.

It's putting all those things, Like Nemo, like IJA, like Pixar, even in parks that don't need it, like MK, like DAK, like EPCOT, that makes the Disney experience homogenous. That's where we get Wal-Marted from.

Contain all that to one park, a studios park, and follow the original intent of the other parks, and you have DIFFERENT experiences. One park on the future and on world culture. One on the adventures of nature. One on fantasy itself in the different aspects and settings it can occupy. And one, of course, that covers the movies, and all the creations in that industry that make it the truly great thing that it is.

Don't mix and match them. Separate them.

Honestly, it's what they did for about 45 years....

    Completely disagree.

Pirates didn't suck. Stitch didn't suck. Nemo didn't suck etc.

They're great characters and franchises, BUT that doesn't mean they aren't being overexposed.

Not gonna happen. And I'm not even sure I completely agree that it should (think I mostly do, though). ... But again, I'd be more concerned about Disney competing with state of the art attractions like FJ with gussied up character meets and (in 2-3 years) a D-Ticket dark ride.

That's not a good rebuttal, future lawyer (unless I talk sense into you first).

I'm simply comparing properties that work where they are and those that don't.

There are others that are very in between like Nemo at EPCOT. It has ruined the message of the pavilion and dumbed it down. But it also is quality and has attracted many people to the place. I wish one of the other plans (one of which included adding Little Mermaid characters to the pavilion) had happened instead. But good old Brad Rex wanted to close the whole place and the fact it is still falling apart can be traced to his budgets for it (and Karl Holz's as well after UT pulled out as sponosr).

Not Pirates, though...I still like that one.

If you can get EE to leave the pixie dust and go over to IOA, then you can.

But I think he starts to cry when he leaves Disney property.
