Perhaps due to their new structure.

So part of me wants to trust the work he is doing. Our family has an AP. If the XPass thing comes to pass and it really affects the way we do the parks when we visit we just wont renew. It's that simple. Disney is going to have to find a balance for resort guests, AP holders and day guests. Any good marketing person knows that you want to be good to your most loyal fan and keep them loyal but also growth has to come from new fans and ticking off a guest who buys a one day ticket isnt the smartest route to do that. I know that Disney wants to funnel everyone to their resorts but they also run the risk of alienating lots of people.

And they should. $100 million for this attraction is obscene. It is worse than M:S and DL's pooh. It is unbelievable. Lee already brought up IOA and MK. The latest number in what the original DCA cost was slightly UNDER $600 million. Think about that.

Originally Posted By EPCOT Explorer >>>Didn't Al say that the Tow Mater spinner wouldn't "just" be a spinner? What'd he mean by that? Just BS to help cover the sticker shock, or what?<<< Same way everyone said TLM would be a E TICKET. It's the typical Disney Spin.

My son and I both have cell phones and mine is a smart phone. But if this goes through with Disney using our cells to track our every move on property I won't be bringing our real phones with our real numbers on property ever again. It really does smack of Big Brother and I don't like that aspect one little bit.

It isn't a spinner. Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "I was thinking it was a "spinning" carnival ride (kinda like the Tea Cups), but it looks more involved than that." That's what I first thought too. The original concept art made it look as though it was just a Mater themed spinner.

It just doesn't seem to be $100 million worth to me.But I may be mistaken about the ride mechanics. It could be that Al got the info wrong and the Flying tire ride is going over 100 million which would make a bit more sense to me since it may be a more complicated attraction with some newer technology.

That does make more sense. "I thought it would be like the Cars Quatre Roues Rallye in WDS:" In principle perhaps, but I certainly hope the execution is a whole lot better than that. The LA times ran a somewhat detailed story about the ride a while ago: http://travel.latimes.com/dail...mb-7552/ The article states "The C-ticket attraction blends a traditional teacup ride and classic whip ride with cars transferring from one spinning roundtable to the next along a circuitous route."
