Mickeynewe, HoJo's will hold the laptop in their back office for you if your room is not ready at check in and also if you check out of your room and go to the park that last day! Just ask at the desk. They are so nice there. Do not leave it in the car.

Wow. I can get about 700 shots on my memory card (1 GB). That's way more than we take.

Both of my kids have their own and take pictures too. They love it plus ds likes the "video" part and filmed the fireworks show last time. Theirs are the kodak kind that you just put on the printer dock and press print but I am not lugging those along this time-lol. Last DL trip, I took them and tink brought them photo albums. Seemed like such a fun idea ahead of time but they nearly drove me crazy printing pictures and organizing them in their albums each day. All I could say was, "Hurry up, hurry up, we are at DL!" I was so silly I didn't realize that you could just put regular batteries in their cameras-ugh. I thought we HAD to have the printer/charger dock. Still it is a fun thing for them and adds a lot to their trip AND they carry the cameras themselves in their own packs-lol.

Still I love having my laptop along. If worst comes to worst and I can't hook up the little car dvd player into the hotel tv, DH and I can watch movies at night when the kids crash. I also love how the kids can put the pictures on the computer and make them be a slideshow and a screensaver and they even email the pics to Grandma who takes care of their cats while they are away. (I would not pay for internet but when it's free, might as well use it!)

I also view the pictures on the bigger screen to see if they look good or I have to retake a picture the next day. If the motel has free wireless I also get to check my email which is a big plus. I wouldn't leave home without it.

I keep a Calfornia file in my favorites for everything we want to see and do while on vacation. In the past I would print this information out and bring it w/. Having the laptop is so much easier. I havent stayed off property in a long time, but Paradise Pier and The Grand Califorian have room safes. Hope you do bring it and don't lock it up in your car. Laptops don't like heat.

    It depend on varous factors:
    1) How many megapixels is the camera set to?
    2) Compression level?

Keep in mind that for 4x6 prints anything above 4 megapixels is overkill (in fact 4 MP is good enough for 5x7 prints).
