Originally Posted By skinnerbox <<The grape juice there was always SUPER-cold, as I remember.>> Yup. And the white grape juice was infinitely superior to the standard purple. At least for me. Drinks at DL are the things I remember most fondly, given the hot summers. White grape juice in Fantasyland, fresh-squeezed OJ at Sunkist on Main Street, the Jungle Julep drink at Sunkist I Presume in Adventureland, and my personal fave, the Tahitian Terrace Punch at Tahitian Terrace, which tasted like a combination of Jungle Julep and the standard Hawaiian Punch from the grocery store. When you were hot and parched during a long summer's day at DL, nothing topped these drinks. Sad to think I haven't been nostalgic for any DL drink in decades. It's all fairly generic now.

Thanks for the great DL beverage memories. I remember the first time I had Knott's boysenberry punch in the 1970s -- wow! Great stuff!

Best restaurant DL ever had. I did prefer the Space Mist punch, though. Mostly because they kept it so cold it actually "misted" and was sooooo good on a hot summer night when TL really jumped after dark.

But the whole entering the restaurant and having a lei put on you like in Fantasy Island (to me as a kid anyway), being led to your seat, sipping on the punch as the waterfal parted and the band, dancers and firewalkers performed, pur magic. Add in the terryaki steak, rice and the fruit salad, yum.

Now, the question remains: do I miss these attractions because I absolutely loved them at the time they were in operation or do I miss them because I'm a nostalgic old koot that longs (in some ways) for the DL of old. Sometimes, you don't appreciate things 'til they're gone.
