There is no justification for change, except to change back these attractions to their original uniqueness. Do a ghost pirate ride at DCA, or the third park. I would hope they saved enough of all the cash flowing around to be able to build something like that. Just don't be absurd and replace another antique. It didnt work with swiss family robinison treehouse, or the people mover. They actually ripped out a working bamboo water wheel, that was 50 years old. An original Walt attraction. They hatefully ripped it out, on purpose, only because they could. I'm getting a little sick of the fear that someone in disney corporate exec thinks is the way to bring in customers.

Lincoln? Well, you got that one - a huge campaign from the fans reportedly influenced Disney to keep it around for a while longer. Kill Light Magic? Please! This parade was underfunded and put out there half baked. It played to uninterested crowds for one summer, then was shelved. The whining from the AP's during that first "dress rehearsal" showing had very little to do with the show's ultimate demise. Kill TL98? Again, please! Another underfunded, half-baked land redo that never had a chance. And sadly, it hasn't been killed - it still limps along, waiting for either death or the next total redo. Why can't you get it in your head, Otown, that the vast majority of posters here either have no problem with the proposed changes to Pirates, or if they do they don't think it's the end of the world? I've said it many times before - get help.

Disney Hong Kong really doesnt count, though i guess it might be part of the blending of cultures. Or are we just not told about them? Or do roller coaster enthusiasts know about them? I think amusement parks can only come about in a society with a certain type of ideology, and a capitalist one. It's not just about being money traders, it's about wanting to take time to escape and enjoy God's gift of life. I always think of God having fun at the amusement park with me. I think others might think that to truely respect God you need to dedicate your life to him. And instead of amusement parks you have places to pray at 3 times a day, at least. I personally prefer walking and doing rides at disneyland, til i drop and then sleep and repose, with repasts, for a day or two. I think other cultures, i may be wrong, i haven't studied them a lot, but, i think the dedication to other political systems, would not allow the idea of an amusement park from ever existing. Anyway, another part of being americans is our facination with old objects. I bet everyone who reads this has seen that pbs show about antiques and their value. Every square inch of Disneyland is an antique, and should be preserved as much as possible. Growth should be embellishments at the most.
