Pirates was a success, and still is to this day. Pirates is not only a successful ride, that needs no changes, it is the MOST successful attraction ever, which is why all argument for change is ludicrous. It is the largest success of any amusement park ride ever! Again, it's a case of those with no talent, gloming on, taking credit for, while actually destroying a work of art. It fails because spiritually, morally, artistically it is wrong.

All base qualities. Since they are too lazy to actualy grow spiritually, and show an appreciation for God's gift of life, the smearers can only belittle, which unlitmately lowers the quality of their life farther than those they smear. The only person a smearer should be insulting is themself. I guess it's fear that clouds their minds. Fear of the unknown keeps them from admiting the truth of the known. An intelligent person smears only the smearers. I feel sorry for the smearers, so i guess i'm not that intelligent. Smearers, they are so small minded, it's so sad when you actually meet one. They live in such small worlds, like little jail cells of the mind. Well, what do you expect from cowards. Not much, and that's what you get.

But to really make it work, you'd also have to bring back all of the rules and regulations for Guests and CM's from 1967. Men with long hair over their ears or past their collar wouldn't be allowed in the Park. Girls in mini-skirts might also get a talking to from a Main Entrance Lead. Some of the trash most people now think is acceptable to wear in public wouldn't be allowed in the gates. CM's wouldn't be allowed to wear anything bigger than a size 12 for women, and about a 38 inch waist for men. If you exceeded those sizes, you'd have to go out on a 6 month medical leave to try and lose weight before you would be allowed back to work to be seen onstage in front of Guests. (That language is actually still in the Union contract for Attractions, but the Company no longer enforces it.) All of the hostesses would be kicked off the Jungle Cruise and the Canoes, and the hosts would be banned from StorybookLand and the Tiki Room. And if a CM deviated from his script or spiel like some 21st century CM's do (Maynard?), that CM would be terminated long before he or she could build up a fan club devoted to their bizzare behavior. The Walt quote "Disneyland is the star, everything else is in the supporting role" would still be respected. There would be no ECV rentals, and someone visting in their own wheelchair would simply be told that they weren't allowed on many of the attractions. You know the two parallel lines leading to the loading dock in Pirates? In the 60's and 70's those were actually split into 4 lines, in the same amount of space. So if you're planning on going on Pirates and your a little chubby, you better think twice before you get wedged in the queue. And when you buy a Coke at the Plaza Inn, you will get 8 ounces served with some ice. There will be no 20 ounce cups with unlimited refills. A soft drink is 8 ounces, and most food portions will be much smaller. There also wouldn't be an Annual Pass that allows you to visit the Park a couple dozen times per year for a tiny percentage of the cost of the daily admission. You would need to shell out cash each time you wanted to visit, and then shell out more cash for individual rides. And the Tiki Room would be the most expensive ride ticket in the whole park, even more than Pirates. If you uttered a swear word out loud (especially in front of a lady), or tried to stand up or misbehave on a ride, you'd be thrown out of the Park with no questions asked. When a ride broke down, you wouldn't get a pass to cut to the front of the line at another ride to make up for your horrible hardship. All you would be given is your ride ticket back if you'd already passed the turnstiles. If you'd waited in line for 60 minutes before the ride broke down, you'd get a smile and a "Sorry folks, but these things happen" as the big solution to your wasted time. There would be no pandering to everyone's insistence that they were more special than others because they are... Staying at the Grand/A Club 33 member/A Premium Annual Passholder/Once got a Christmas card from Tony Baxter/Have been coming to the Park since the invention of the telephone/etc. If people really want to resist change and preserve Disneyland in a block of lucite for all eternity, then we need to do this 100% instead of just picking and choosing the things that shouldn't change for our own personal reasons. If we want to set the clock back to 1967, then there are going to be a lot of little luxuries and modern conveniences that need to go away.

If this is true then Iger is a real genious! This will greatly improve and bring the ride into the 21st century! I can't wait! Also they will add rock and rap songs to update the attraction. And it will now be set in the future so that they can use some of the characters from Treasure Planet as well. R2D2 and Threepio from Star Tours will also make a guest appearance aboard Jabba the Hut's spacebarge. And you thought that Iger was a non creative, idiot CEO who had no vision! ;-)

He was the one who was in charge of the last few changes to Pirates; the infamous "PC rehab" of Spring, 1997 and a subsequent rehab in Winter, 2000 when some other animatronics were added and effects changed. There have been other changes, additions and deletions over the decades, but those last two rehabs are the most recent when animatronics have been removed, replaced with new ones, audio tracks changed, and effects added or deleted. Tony Baxter did those last two rehabs, so give him a ring and tell him he doesn't deserve to work for Disney.

ESPECIALLY considering u r a CM and i am a WestSide (Ad/Lib) CM at MK as well!! Tony did a great job on the rehabs. They were NOT intrusive, he kept ONE turntable of pirate chasing wench. He added MORRRE AAs from WoM, BETTER FX, etc. Even if they were just adding Jack, i do NOT see HOW u can accept the removal of ORIGINAL audio, narration, and AAs, as THIS rehab will do.
