I thought this was relevant for those concerned about the tax consequences for small business.

They aren't concerned about any such thing. They're concerned about making things up to support their pre-indoctrinated positions, courtesy of the same rich people.

"Big business good. Biggest business biggest good. Tax on big business bad. Socialist. Muslim. Illegal immigrants. Blah blah blah."

They'd rather be right than realistic.

Truthiness, my friends. It's all about truthiness. It just...feels right. I feel like I'll be rich someday so I don't want taxes on the rich to go up. I feel that small business owners are hard working Americans who scrimped and saved and never made a single mistake to get there, so leave them alone. I feel like poor Americans are lazy, system-abusers who got what they deserved.

I feel that way, so it must be true.

It is amazing how often liberals make themselves sound like they are the minority party.

    You're confusing "liberal" with "Democrat."

The liberals are still a very small minority in Congress, with little chance of that changing any time soon. If they weren't, everybody would have health care by now.

Unfortunately, health care is another one of those things. Ranting about premiums because of how they affect their ability to take vacations, buy expensive "toys," etc. Now, I do think runaway health care costs are a serious problem our country is facing, but people need to face the reality that health care isn't going to be as cheap as we would like.

Which I suppose could add another. "I can only afford $X, therefore if something costs more than $X it MUST be too expensive." People seem to be more concerned with decreasing costs than increasing their personal income. I think in the long run, this has hurt us as a country. Instead of addressing wage inequality issues, we got free credit to buy the stuff we wanted.

I know there must be some who make more than $500K, but I'm sure a lot make less. Small business, not big corporate CEOs I feel will be hurt with additional taxes on the "rich".

If Geitner is the golden boy and this weekend he thought that raising middle classes might need to happen; then deciding we do NOT need to do it is a product of politics and not necessarily sound economoic policy. That should be a concern to folks.

You do that. I'm going to be hoping that he raises them.

Starving the government beast has never worked and it never will work. All it does is cause further hardship for the folks who need government services to survive.

    (1) Raise taxes to end immediate crisis.
    (2) Fix the problems.
    (3) Lower taxes.

You can't go out of order or skip steps on that. Just doesn't work.

Maybe you both could cut down on the beer if you need the extra money.

The reason so many government services are so piss poor in the Us is they are underfunded (except perhaps defence).

I have confidence in the first two words. The rest, not so much.

Wow I never knew not wanting your taxes raised was such a horrible thing.
