You'd think he'd have problems with panty lines.

Thanks to you, I not only learned who made the original, when it was made, when it was taken off display and also who made the replica. I find this kind of stuff fascinating. I had a few questions of my own that wouldn't have minded asking and it seems that I wasn't alone. BTW, I did know the answer to the first two of the Witches questions. As for the 3rd, RockyMtnMinnie has scarred me for life. >>Does he wear undies under his tights? This "duckling" was happy to answer your question regarding the Castle and the Matterhorn. I'll leave the question about Prince Phillip to one of the other ducklings.

Bear in mind, none of this is from Googlin', it's just what I know off the top of my head. Walt's original engine, the Lilly Belle, was displayed in Main Street Station in a specially designed glass case. That case was located in the northwest corner of the station, in a section of diagonal wall. (Fun fact: the wall is still there. You can tell it was a display case, because the chair rail is lower there. I believe the case is still sealed up in the wall, but have been unable to confirm.) After Santa Fe dropped sponsorship of the Disneyland Railroad in the 1970s, the display was closed down. Lilly Belle was moved to a free standing case, and Walt's hand built caboose was added to the display. These were removed for loan to the Ronald Reagan Museum. (The Disney family has personally owned Walt's miniature locomotive all along.) After the Reagan Museum exhibit, the Lilly Belle and caboose were returned to the Disney family, who will place it on display in the Library and Museum they are building in San Francisco. The Lilly Belle II was then pressed into service to fill the case. This engine was built as a commission for the Oriental Land Company. They wanted to display the Lilly Belle in the Tokyo Disneyland Disney Gallery, but the Disney family declined to send the engine across the ocean. But they did offer parts that Walt had machined in the 50s to create a replica. That became the Lilly Belle II. After the TDL exhibit, it came to Anaheim where it is still on display in Main Street Station. That's all I know... but then I don't claim to know the most that anyone else does...!

There are some Imagineers that are supposed to be really good, but I would bet you could hold your own with them.

Dug, you're always willing to share your incredible knowledge of the park with us but still treat us like equals in the process. That's a rare gift and just one of the reasons we love you! <--Removes Mouse Ears as a sign of GREAT respect! Does anyone (other than Dug) remember who lived in the tree just outside the entrance to the JC?
