I suppose I should leave these for the OP, but since he's been basically MIA...

    >>1.) Who was the emcee for the Goofy anniversary parade in 1992?<<
I well remember "The World According to Goofy." Professor Ludwig von Drake was on the lead float. Is that who you mean?

    >>2.) How many bears play the guitar in the Country Bear Jamboree?<<
I never saw The Country Bear Jamboree in Disneyland, as they were using just the Vacation and Holiday versions by the time I got there.

That said: Henry, Liver Lips McGraw (it certainly looks like a guitar, even if it is awfully tinny), and Big Al play guitars. (Others play banjos, strum "fiddles" and perform on the One String Things, but not guitars!)

    >>3.) Who are the 997th, 998th and 999th ghosts?<<
I assume you mean in the order in which they are seen. So that would be our three "hitchhikers," Gus, Phineas, and Ezra (according to the most recognized mythology). I suppose that since the addition of "Jay's" headstone in 2004, these three would be 998, 999, and 1,000. But let's not dwell on that unpleasantness.

    >>4.) Not counting the 8mm films or the current DLR travel, er, souvenir videos, how many "A Day at Disneyland" editions were there?<<
I know of only one with this exact title.

    >>5.) Which 80s television star DID appear on DL's 30th Anniversary Celebration television special?
    --A. Michael J. Fox
    --B. Kim Fields
    --C. Gary Coleman
    --D. Emmanuel Lewis<<
    Kim Fields

    >>6.) Which 80s television star did NOT appear on DL's 30th Anniversary Celebration television special?
    --A. Tina Yothers
    --B. David Hasselhoff
    --C. Mr. T
    --D. Debbie Allen<<
    Mr. T

    >>7.) What was the Tomorrowland version of The Mad Hatter shop called?<<
The Mod Hatter, as noted above. (And one I knew off the top of my head, too.)

    >>8.) According to the Country Bear Jamboree LP book, which bear is obsessed with clothes?<<
That would be Earnest, the Dude. (Although Zeb's wife models fur coats.)

    >>9.) Which Disney characters represented Adventureland in the 1980s-era souvenir guidebooks?<<
In the 1983 booklet I just looked over, it was Shere Khan and Mickey. So I'll say The Jungle Book.

Please, no more laundry lists of questions. I get way too involved in digging through boxes and cupboards. It scares the family...

<<I well remember "The World According to Goofy." Professor Ludwig von Drake was on the lead float. Is that who you mean?>>

Yes, I remember he was the one who started off the parade. I should have asked you who was the lead float in 1991's Working in America parade. :)

<<That said: Henry, Liver Lips McGraw (it certainly looks like a guitar, even if it is awfully tinny), and Big Al play guitars. (Others play banjos, strum "fiddles" and perform on the One String Things, but not guitars!)>>

It scared me at first because I only read your first paragraph and I KNEW I should have did the / thing, as in Jamboree/Vacation Hoedown/Christmas special.

Yes, Henry, Big Al and LiverLips McGrowl all play the guitar in all 3 shows...and so does Terrence (aka Shaker). In the seasonal shows, he's the one with an animal friend (octopus, penguin).

While we're at it, here are the other instruments:

    -Zeke: banjo and dishpan
    -Zeb: fiddle
    -Ted: corn jug
    -Fred: mouth harp
    -Tennessee: one-string "phang"
-Wendell: mandolin (original show; he has no instruments in the other two)
    -Ernest: fiddle
    -Gomer: piano

I first heard about this when I read an online chat transcript with Bruce and Tim in the late 90s. They mentioned how one of them came up with the names for the Hitchhiking Ghost beanie babies.

    One thing though.

Wouldn't that make Little Leota number 1000?

Wouldn't the 997th, 998th and 999th ghosts be the fat hitchhiker, the skeleton hitchhiker and Little Leota?

Hasn't this dawned on anyone before? Did everyone forget that there is still one more spirit after the trio?

<<I know of only one with this exact title.>>

I actually found the 8mm videos of the Electrical Parade and DL on YouTube; very nice, btw. The Electrical Parade appears to have "magic windows" in the original run; I could have sworn I saw a neonish outline of Goofy, the Big Bad Wolf and others.

Anyway, I only know of *three* Day at DL videos:

-The 1982 version, which was released in the original Disney VHS run. This version uses both videotape and filmed footage; the latter footage came from a souvenir 8mm film and features the little girl and the balloon. I have this on both Beta and VHS (copied, that is, lol).

-The 1991 version; This one is one of my favorites, although our version is no longer in the greatest condition (I blamme my sister for that). This features Chip and Dale at the Mansion, the Electrical Parade but with different music (what, you couldn't get the rights for Baroque Hoedown?), Goofy on Big Thunder and Jungle Cruise, Smee looking for Hook in the Swiss Family Treehouse, Hook and Smee on Pirates, Pluto and Launchpad McQuack on Space Mountain, the Tahitian Terrace, Brer Bear and Fox on Splash, Mickey rushing Brer Bear and Fox to the Country Bears (why is Brer Rabbit never around?), Alice, the Hatter and the White Rabbit on the Teacups, and Alice and the Hatter on IASW.

-1992: Same as the 1991 version, but they added a preview for Fantasmic! at the end, so this really doesn't count.

-1993: I believe this was released in the classic clamshell case and featured Mickey's Toontown.

    That's all I know of.

You know, I should just transfer the 30th anniversary celebration from Beta to VHS...it's still in great condition.

<<In the 1983 booklet I just looked over, it was Shere Khan and Mickey. So I'll say The Jungle Book.>>

Well, it was just Khan and Mickey. :) I wish I still had my souvenir guides from 1987 and 1984. I DID find ones for 1975 and 77 so that's pretty cool. The one for 75 is still in great condtion.

That one started with a title float that had Minnie, Roger Rabbit, Chip 'n Dale and Goofy. (Remember how they kept shoving Roger Rabbit down our throats in the early nineties?) This was followed by the Suburbia unit and the Heartland Ranch (with stuff that looked suspiciously recycled from the Disneyland State Fair parade). Then came the Metropolis section, complete with precision briefcase drill team (which was a direct steal from the Pasadena Doo Dah parade). The theme song for Metropolis was "Working in America" (to the tune of "Living in America"). You probably are jonesing on that because the title float featured a power-suit-clad Big Bad Wolf (identified as The Big Bad Boss).

It all culminated in a super patriotic finale that featured Mickey as Uncle Sam, and a disturbing float with the severed hand and torch of the Statue of Liberty. It all ended with marching workers bearing red banners with golden hammers and sickles. (OK, I made up that last part.)

Will your next question be about the Colored Electric Lightbulb parade, hmmm?

I saw those on YouTube when I was watching the 8mm version of the MSEP. If you watch that video, you'll see the "neon character windows" I was talking about.
