I remember the Main Street Marching Band, the Swan Boats and WEDway People Move with the same music played in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...2iLetCTc

My earliest memory of that trip was our arrival to the park. Having been to Disneyland pretty much every year, I was accustomed to the Anaheim look. But pulling into the vast parking lot... there was no park! Just some attraction posters and a Monorail station. It was quite disorienting... and a little disappointing. (I was 10).

I remember gliding into the Contemporary aboard the Monorail. I was sure that, someday in the future, traveling through buildings in Monorails would be how everyone got around. My spirits lifted.

Finally, we arrived at the park. I remember how much larger Main Street felt, and the castle seemed massive compared to the one in Disneyland.

I remember loving the exterior of WDW's Haunted Mansion -- creepier, more ominous. The Country Bear Jamboree was a huge hit -- people clapping along, west coast audiences never got into it the way they did in Florida. And the Hall of Presidents was amazing to me, as was the Mickey Mouse Revue. The Skyway seemed higher up to me, but it was strange with no Matterhorn. I also remember watching a floating version of the electrical parade (can't remember what it was called) that was pretty cool.

I remember getting orange juice in a little plastic orange, with a green lid and a green straw. I kept that thing for years for some reason. My only souvenir was a map of WDW, lost long ago.

More than anything I remember how spread out everything seemed.

It was fun to finally get back there again in 2008. It was so completely different from my first visit, only Main Street and the castle were as I remembered them. And gliding through the Contemporary!

Thank you for the flashback!!! I haven't thought of those since I don't know when!! Maybe it was a "Florida thing" because I seem to remember having those at Busch Gardens in Tampa as well.

I also remember the Orange Bird character (orange juice co. mascot) in AL. (you know - back when characters actually roamed the park)

Wasn't that served in a plastic "bunch of grapes" container?

Not anytime I was there, but it could've been at some point, I guess. Was just served in a large cup. (which I think cost all of $1 or $1.50)

I remember thinking that it felt like I was breathing really thick air. (Whooo thats a lot of humidity in the summer!) My favorite park right away was Epcot. But my brother at the time was a little less than thrilled with Future World. He told me "If I have to go back in time, just one more time I'm going to be mad." LOL! He hasn't been back since but I'm sure he'd love it now as we could drink around the world together. :D

Okay, okay! I suppose, technically, I thought that *before* I stepped on property, too. :D

I sat in the back seat of the Old Man's '77 Malibu so I guess I got used to the climate on the way down. Anybody else remember sitting in "cartoon booths" for what i guess was maybe a dime?

I donn't mean in WDW...more like on the wat down...maybe in the Carolinas. It was definitely "South of the Border"....bumpersticker and all.....

My first park memories are seeing Spaceship Earth on my way past, and my first ride, Test Track. I liked it, but things only got better from there.
