You forgot the part about also being lucky enough to not have any genetically induced pre-existing conditions. Your gene pool influences your ability to get adequate health care as well. Hard work is not enough.

What did the people at company B do wrong? Not work hard enough? No. And don't assume that Company B is just not doing as well as Company A. Sometimes companies have dropped insurance coverage due to their own financial woes, but lately you've seen companies doing quite well noticing that other companies are dropping it, and dropping it themselves because they CAN. So what would you call that but some major bad luck for the Company B employees?
